On tap. Deep brown color, thinner tan head. Pleasant aroma, lots of cocoa, light roast, moderately sweet. Similar flavor, has a fairly dry finish. Lighter bodied, but appropriate. Nice. Too bad the place doesn’t exist anymore.

Very, very light-bodied, as expected. Somewhat refreshing. Dry, with hints of aged wood and ashes, with an evident smokiness. Some caramel nad malts - smooth and easily drinkable, just somewhat thin-bodied.

Tap at Waterfront Ale House, Brooklyn - dark brownish copper with rather large, foamy head - roasty, almost smokey aroma - quite dry, but still refreshing - lots of subtle cocoa and dark fruit - smoke, wood - I could drink a whole keg of this.

Chocolate, raisins and light roastiness in the aroma. Opaque reddish brown body with a low off white head that recedes to partial cover. Dark pit fruit flavours up front are joined by ashy, roasty and cocoa characteristics leading through to a moderate finishing bitterness. Medium light body with moderate, refreshing carbonation. Sampled on tap at D.B.A. in NYC with Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere.

Yep, Drafting Room. Poured darker brown with a tan head. Aroma is carmel, nuts, and dark fruits. Flavors mirror the nose with a little bit of smoke present. Very smooth and drinkable.

on cask at the Spuyten Duyvil. dark brown color, some gold at the edges, some red at other edges. quite the optical illusion! smoky and cigar tobacco aroma. toffee malt too. nice silky texture, sublime carbonation. flavor starts like watered kaluha, then gets a little peaty, and finishes with sweeter toffee malt and smokiness. my favorite mild.

Cask Conditioned at Mahar’s in Albany, NY. Excellent dark beer, surprisingly easy to drink. Roasted flavor excells above the nice hop bite.
