Bottle at Sune’s.... Unclear red/brown - offwhite head. Raisins, dark dread, dried dark fruits, sparkling, sharp licorice finish. Portwine like. Not complex enough.

(Bottle) Pours a murky brown body with a spare off-white head. Aroma of raisins, maple syrup, nutmeg, and malt. Nice balance of hoppy & malt flavors. The flavor reminds me of a vintage English Ale.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JUN 14, 2005 Old Salty 2004. 12 oz bottle, pours a nicely carbonated head that reduces to a thin creamy head. Color is a dark caramel/amber and clear body. Rich deep taste and yes lots of malt. Just not my preference but I would enjoy coming across this again sometime.

Bottle 2005 shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear reddish brown color with a minimal to average frothy off-white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy dark fruit, yeast and small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Bottled - 2003: Amber coloured clear. Light brown head. Sweetness, fruits, some spices and alcahol in the nose. Herbs, flowers and malt in the flavour. Loads of alcahol in the end. Quite nice, but I had ’em better.
