Ungstrup (11164), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 8, 2006 A very dark brown beer with a red shine underneath a fast disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet but also with a hint of acidity and notes of wood, prunes, and caramel - reminds me a bit of a Flemmish Sour. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of prunes, and lesser notes of wood and caramel, leading to a dry woody end. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 9, 2006 (Bottle 75 cl) Pours a hazy, dark brown with a small, light brown head. Lightly tart, fruity and vinous aroma. Medium body with sourish notes of overripe - and dried - fruits. Vinous and quite delicate. A light tartness lingers all through the finish but without any confronting bitterness. 061006 joergen (6340), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 8, 2006 Bottle.
