3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 rudolf (2276) - Buffalo, New York, USA - APR 20, 2006
Murky brown, champagne head. Nose has caramel, nutmeg, pumpkin spice. Flavor is caramel, yeast, lemon, funk. Maybe a hint of wood. Bittersweet saison finish. Not too shabby.

Another great variation in the saison from the sisters line. Definitely spicy. Pretty awesomely spicy. Otherwise same as the others in this series (which is to say good)

Thanks Dave. The beer pours to a very hazy light brown body with a fizzy looking white head. The aroma is caramel and nougat. The flavor is black pepper, cardamom?, interestingly spicy. Caramel and nougat malts. Lemons. The body is medium-light bodied.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JCapriotti (1379) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 18, 2006
Slightly murky copper. Creamy white head. Aroma has orange, sweet spice, maybe some cinnamon. Sweet spicey flavor... almost awkwardly spiced.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MIBRomeo (2346) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 18, 2006
pours a slightly dark golden color a touch of haze and a big white head well laced made of small bubbled. Aroma doesn’t really have a spice presence that I expected. a lightly spiced hop aroma some lemon grass and yeast notes. Palate is fairly light some good coating. Flavor is extremly mild no sour notes to speak of (not what i expected w/ a saison) some light spicings, corriander and allspice come through. A very light sweet component that reminds me of honey a bit. Decent brew, but nothing that special.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 LePoopie (151) - Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, USA - APR 18, 2006
Thanks to Dave for the sample! Has a decent aroma, piney and citrusy. Nice cloudy golden brown body and a thin white head. Flavor is mild, slighty hoppy and spicy. Decent body and carbonation. Overall, this is pretty nice.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 pineypower (2149) - Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA - MAR 22, 2006
Pours out a deep copper color almost like that of a double IPA. Aroma is exactly what you would expect...spicy (go figure). Taste is rather hoppy with some notes of some strange spices, maybe some lemon grass with yeast and some fruit here or there and maybe some black pepper on the finish, very earthy with some nice flavors on the finish. Solid beer
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Thaichile (599) - 10aFly, New Jersey, USA - MAR 4, 2006
Bottle 750ml. Pours a cloudy fresh apple cider color with practically no head. Scents of citrus and grass. Very nice citrus(lemon) flavors. Presence of sourness was a plus as it was tempered. This got better as I drank the bottle. Refreshing and just wanted to keep tasting it. Not really the level of spiciness that actually prompted me to purchase. Nonetheless, a really very nice saison.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - FEB 12, 2006
Courtesy of Pailhead. Slightly cloudy, light orange in color, with minimal white head, fades to film rather quickly. Aroma has a big musty/yeasty character to it. Maybe grass, slight skunk, and faint herbs and spice. Flavor has nice yeasty, zesty, fruit up front (guessing orange, hard to pinpoint though)with a malt background to balance it out. Lots of white pepper in a very dry finish. Fine saison IMO.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3989) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 11, 2006
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2007 I am not a big saison fan but was intrigued enough to pick this one up. Sampled from a 750ml green bottle this beer poured a cloudy caramel color with a large yellow-white head. The aroma is sour, tangy and has light caramel and raisin elements. The flavor is sour and tangy with a strong butterscotch presence The finish is fruity and a bit peppery.
