COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The second OTOP beer is code named TRITICUM BOCK. Triticum is the genus or classification of certain grasses to which wheat belongs. This beer was brewed on July 17th and released around August 13th. TRITICUM is a deep amber wheat bock. It was made with 64% German wheat malts, including light, dark and caramel wheat. It was hopped with German Perle and fermented with our house Belgian ale yeast. It measured 18.1 P in the finished beer. The Belgian yeast flows fairly well so although the beer is fuzzy (65% wheat will do that) it contains little yeast. The beer has a strong caramel and wheaty flavor with a mild estery character.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2004 Poured from a growler a the Heavyweight 5yr anniversary party. Thin head. Great aroma. Sweet with caramel malts, hint of corriander and some fruit. Color is a slightly cloudy dark amber orange. Flavor was a bit sweet with a more caramel, a bit of alcohol and corn flakes. Finish was dry with a nice alcohol warming. A very good beer.

08.14.04 Tasted at HW 5th Anniv. Appearance of fresh pressed cider. Fruity and smooth flavors with hints of sour acidity at the finish. This was an outstanding beer, the wheat qualities and anticipated esters really come through.

Draft at the Grey Lodge awhile back. Godd wheat beer. Wheat flavor dominated the beer. Alcohol was hidden rather well.

Good strong flavorful bock. Didn't notice the wheat that much, and wouldnt have known it was a weizenbock had i not seen it here. However, it is quite dark, and flavorful.

Very good beer. Had this at a Heavyweight event and they were just introducing it. Nice flavor. Nice color like a caramel color. Very good.

Unfortunately I had this one towards the end of the brewfest. So my notes are fairly illedgable. But I can make out sweet nose and the word pineapple.

Very belgian-like wheat bock. Noticable alcohol. A little thin, but not out of style. Very cloudy. Esters similar to Belgians with a malty wheat bock-flavor.
