COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was brewed with the Woodbridge-based WHALES Home Brew Club. It incorporates 20 pounds of Mexican panela sugar and 10 pounds of raisins, resulting in an extremely malty beer with a rich and rummy caramel complexity (8.5% abv).

A bottle from my cellar that I took to the RBWG 2013 Grand Tasting. Clear brown body under a tan head. Sweet malty aroma. The flavor follows the aroma pretty much.

Pours an opaque brown from the bottle with thin off-white head and light lacing. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, scotch sweetness. Taste follows, but a little thinner than you would expect, and add some dark fruity notes. Pretty solid, well balanced, and alcohol well hidden.

Bottle shared at RBWG poured a cloudy brown color with aromas of caramel, light dark fruit, toffee, and light oxidation. Flavors are the same but less oxidation. A nice scoth ale over all thanks to whoever brought this little gem.

Hazy brown. Long lasting head. Nutty aroma. Property, perhaps from alcohol. Slightly earthy. Sweet.

750 ml bottle to taster at the RBWG (thanks to whoever shared this). Looks solid; a fairly opaque brown with beige lacing. Smells of oxidized caramel. Tastes like it smells, only better (and less oxidized), with a surprisingly good mouthfeel. Glad to get to try this one from a now defunct brewery.

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2013 Bottle at RBWG 2013 Grand Tasting. Pours clear, copper-brown with a creamy, beige head. Some oxidized malts in the nose, caramel, lightly tangy fruits, berries. Medium to big sweet flavor, toffee, ripe fruits, plums, bread, light leaves. Mellow oxidation. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, loads of toffee, ripe fruits and bread. Has aged well. Delicious.

This bottled brew from a rating party poured a head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish mild vinous hop aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of brown malt and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Brown black pour with light tan head and lace. Aroma is large caramel/brown sugar. Flavor is molasses, chocolate, and dried fruit. Medium bodied and fizzy. Pretty damn good for an old guy.

Thanks Paul or whoever shared this. A pretty solid traditional scotch ale, sweet grains of a few different levels of roast, some caramel/toffee and a bit of sweet fruits such as raisins. Medium thickness, good stuff.

Bottle. Pours a hazy bruin body with an off white head. Malty scotch tones, hints of peat, very woody. Light malt tones and caramel with a light fruit and a touch of mint. Some soft vanilla a hint husky like some grain oxidation but hardly any. Very smooth with raisin and a woody finish. Wow did this ever hold up.
