Thomas_E (4814), Copenhagen, Denmark May 15, 2008 Reddish, brown colour with a small light brown head. Roasted malty, light chocolate sweet aroma with vague coffee notes and hints of fruit and alcohol. Chocolate sweet flavor with a light roasted coffee bitter note.
Cornfield (4254), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA May 3, 2008 Brought to DLD by one of the BA guys hanging around the The LoSBD table. Thanks, Zeke. It poured a deep clear brown highlighted in red with a smallish pale tan head. The aroma was dark caramel, cocoa, raisins, toffee, and a suggestion of smoke. The flavor blended all of that together nicely and had the addition of a warming alcohol presence that was greatly appreciated on cold, cloudy, windy morning.

dm9831 (530), Monee, Illinois, USA Apr 29, 2008 zeke brought a bottle to dark lord day 2008. pours dark brown, tan bubbles around the head. chocolatey nose, chocolatey flavor, with some smoke and malt. thick and rich mouth feel. overall: yummy (that’s what my notes say). adrian910ss (966), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 18, 2008 750 ml bottle. Pours a dark ruby amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of sweet malts, raisins, caramel, toffee and vanilla. Taste of sweet dark fruit, caramel, raisins, toffee with a touch of chocolate. Excellent !!! JCB (889), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jan 3, 2008 750 (2006 bottle) from The Beer Cellar - thanks, Matt! A big lustrous pour, deep ruby with glints of light barely escaping, and a still-lively carbonation. Big toffee notes come through in the nose, and a slight tartness that must be the raisins. Both qualities are amplified as you get deeper into the beer, with a pert hop presence just managing to balance the weighty malts and sweet caramel. Pressurized by the depths of the ocean, this one breathes freely and is most enjoyable at surface level.
