2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle from BeersOfEurope. A smooth, dark malty beer with a lot of soft milk chocolate flavours finished with a tang of metal. Polish dark lagers are quite pleasant. Quite creamy and milky. British little old ladies would love this stuff. Great fun.

Bottled. A very dark brown coloured beer, almost black, with a decent tan coiloured head. The aroma is fuill of chocolate and dark, dark bread. Really great malts. The taste is pretty good too. Very bready and a bit milky. Long full finish. Really smooth. Tasty and quite the surprise.

Pours a very dark brown with a smallish off-white head. Nice nutty and chocolate aroma, some roastiness as well. Flavor is slightly bland, dry finish. Watery palate.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep dark brown, topped by a thick and creamy head of tan foam. Good head retention and lacing. Chocolate and animal-feed grain in the aroma.
Bittersweet chocolate, mild coffee, and roasted grain in the flavor. Both sweet and dry with a hint of fruit. Medium body, moderate carbonation, a hint of a hop tang in the finish. Dry grain in the aftertaste.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
500 ml bottle purchased sometime this past fall somewhere in the midwest (??), enjoyed from a Trout Brook mug at cellar temperature. Dark, clear purplish-black body with a small to moderate lasting creamy-bubbly light brown head, lovely thick lacing....wow, beautiful nutty-chocolatey, roasty aroma, a bit of oatmeal, vanilla and caramel in there too, so decadent and inviting and quite surprisingly very very fresh....I’m a bit worried that the flavor won’t hold up to the delicious nose, but I have little to worry about, it’s nearly as rich and delightful as I’d hoped for, sweet and chocolaty-caky at the front, drying out somewhat by the finish, with very light mineralic/salty qualities and some light vanilla bean touches....I really didn’t find this thin at all, as some have suggested, and the balance of roast and sweetness is well-night perfect....carbonation is just a bit low, leading to a bit of syrupyness. An astonishing find -- one of the most underrated beers on this site, as far as I’m concerned. Wish I had easy access to more....

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
The other beers that I’ve had from Browary Warmińsko-Mazurskie Jurand were interesting in some way, shape, or form. This dunkel looks nice, a dark brown body with red highlights and a sudsy light brown head. But the light aroma of dark caramel with some drops of old coffee is way too cloyingly sweet for me. It’s a thin, watery brew and the flavor is very light, sweet caramel, a suggestion of chocolate, and much, much water. Over all, a let down.

Poland has very few good dunkels. it is a nice try but thank you. It tastes like coffie mixed with mild beer very much watered.and some roastiness. but nice appearance thick beautiful head. almost black body. very nice bottle label. It gives an impression of elegance and proffesionalism. I had expected much more.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Good black color, small but long lived tan head that left a nice lace behind. The aroma was roasty and malty with a slight bit of caramel in the back ground. The flavor was roasty and a bit dark with some hints of chocolate up front a slight amount of caramel or possibly burnt caramel and finishes up with a roasty chocolate.I actually have to say i like this alot and must rate this above what the average is.Very nice flavorful brew that is just plain smooth all around.

Black colored, slight red hints. Little beige head. Nicely roasted coffee aroma with caramelly sweetness, chocolate and licorice. Medium bodied. Flavor is also rich with good touch of roastiness, sweetness, licorice, chocolate and coffee. Aftertaste lasts with caramel and drying hops.
