thebeertourist (1889), Oslo, Norway Aug 31, 2008 Bottle, branded as Annafestbier. Clear amber with a fast disappearing head. Fruity, mostly apples, and malty aroma. Fruity and malty flavours, some spicy rye bread, blending with apples. Semi-dry. Grainy mouthfeel, pounding the tongue with its full body. Solid. yngwie (3602), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 26, 2008 Bottle, from trade with maria. A clear, golden to copper pour topped by a diminishing off-white head. The aroma is on the fruity side, with apples being the dominant fruit, but there’s also some sweet malty notes. Fruity-sweet, almost syrupy flavor with pears and apples, a little tropical fruits and a tiny hoppy bitterness. Some alcohol too. Full body, and a malty finish, sweet and fruity, low on bitterness, but still quite dry. A quite nice beer, but a bit on the syrupy-sweet side for my likings. (080716) Maria (4380), Thisted, Denmark Aug 17, 2008 Dark golden with a dense head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, caramel and a slightly dry citrus. It could have a little more to offer, but the finish is long and very nice. PetrZalio (7), Brno, Czech Republic does not count Aug 14, 2008 Labelled Annafestbier, Bottled (but fresh from brewery). Light Amber colours, aroma spicy, woody (like from wood cask) with typical franken houseyeast charakter with caramel. Malty, carbonated, fresh und spritzig, light body but full palate-caramel, minty, a little bit salty. I think that isn´t typicaly Festbier but more likely peculiar Franken homely Landbier. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 11, 2008 Draught at Annafest, Forchheim. Probably amber coloured, small head. Salty fruity nose. Medium sweet and medium bodied. Well structured malt with some caramel and peculiar apricot. Candied apples appear in a finish with low bitterness.
