bottle. horrible. apple juice and dirty minerals / gravel in the nose. yeast character is mild chalk powder and egg yolk. lightly frothy carbonation but brash malt body, mostly sweet, low bitterness, medium acid. grainy, coarse, rough and husky. has astonishingly realistic putrid egg yolk and apple juice flavors.

Test vom 11.8.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,9,12,9,12,11 - 10,50

Golden color. Little nose, a whiff of malt. Again sweet at first, less so than the helles, more fruity. Slight hops at end, bit of a lemony finish.

Bottle stamped 24.11.12. Sweet citric nose with some light spicing and dough. Pours a clear orange-golden with a fizzy beige head that’s soon gone. Sweet but sharply tangy taste (not exactly sour, just tangy). Crisp and aggressive medium body. I like the doughy and spicy notes, and even the latent fruitiness, but couldn’t drink too much of this.

Tap at the Brau Haus - 28/04/12. Served in a porcalain tankard so not the best view of the apperance! Looks a clear golden when you push aside the medium frothy white head. Sweet malty aroma - not a lot else doing! Sweet and malty in the taste with a little background spiciness. Medium in body and a smooth finish.

Bottle thanks to Ruth! Pours a light yellow with a thin white head. Crystal clear. Aroma is clear with some bready malts and light grassy hops with a little dank dough. Taste is salty and lightly bitter. Easy drinking but just a little rough on the finish. Great to try such a longstanding German brew.

Bottle @ Uncle Chris’ house in Fürth. Clear, golden appearance with a white head. A touch fruity, white bread, light husky, straw aroma. Crisp, husky/grainy, cracker, hay flavor. Easy to drink.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
