HeBrew Bittersweet Lennys R.I.P.A

Dark copper color - darker than most IPAs, strong hop aroma, strong rye flavor right up front - more so than I expected, hops also up front, sweet hop finish, creamy texture, certainly a unique IPA

Copper colored beer with lots of rye and floral hops in the aroma. Rye dominates the flavor. Alcohol is too present. The hop profile does not work with the rye. I did not like this at all.

Dark amber, small head. Straw, and amber malt aroma. Rich flavor of rye, lots of hops, nuts, some citrus, burnt caramel. Significant carbonation but a tad creamy also. Bitter hop and mineral finish.

Pours a clear copper brown with a medium beige head and some lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, lemon and very floral. Flavor is grapefruit, pine, caramel, toffee, lemon and a nice rye backbone. Nicely bitter but not overdone. Resiny full body, chewy texture. Finishes a nice and long bittery goodness.

purchased at 99 bottles in federal way, washington. pours a dark copper with a red tint, small yellow-beige head, excellent lacing. smell of wood, pine, caramel, roasted malt, some spice, some rye. taste is creamy, rye, caramel, roasted nuts, woody, ends a little on the bitter side.

Pour is hazed orangey amber with a thin skin of an off white head...smell is strongly grapefruity and relatively pungent...taste is sweet and relatively lacking in hop flavor...lots of sweet toastiness...light citric bitter finish...

Kinda surprised by this one- I was expecting a hop slap in the face. The bitterness was actually quite nice, and the creaminess of the beer really seemed to shine through. 10%??? Could have fooled me. Pretty good stuff!

Bomber from Sam’s, shared with Henning. Pours a dark amber with a thin off-white head. Nose has some rye, and bitter hops. Not much malt balance in the aroma or the flavor. Flavor was a little too bitter for my liking and I feel like the rye made it more bitter. Sometime I’m in the mood for real bitter double ipa’s but this didn’t happen to be one of those days.
