TPaliga (212), Munster, Indiana, USA Dec 7, 2006 Pours red with off white head. Aroma is sweet malt, hops, light citrus, and sweet fruit. Flavor is sweet malt back with nice bitter hop finish. Sticky and sweet. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Dec 6, 2006 Dark red pour with a creamy head of lace with big bubbles. Aroma is sweet rich malts and spicy hops. Flavor is quite nice. The hops are quite rough and resiny. Bitter. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Dec 4, 2006 Updated: Apr 8, 200722 oz Bottle via BigSilky (thanks!). Pours a clear reddish brown with a massive beige head that does not want to dissipate. Nose is floral, piney and citrusy. Tastes like it smells with a bold hoppy resiny pine finish, a little rye and a strong caramel malt backbone. Full body. Almost syrupy mouthfeel.Alcohol well hidden. World class IIPA. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Dec 3, 2006 22 oz bottle bought somewhere in the midwest in August 2006, consumed from a Unibroue glass in September of that year. Dark, cherry-red color, mostly clear with a well-formed neat off-white lasting head....rather boring, simple aroma of cherry and Pine Sol and plenty of noticeable alcohol....hard-hitting attack on the taste buds though, sweet syrupy and alcoholic immediately, bitterness coming in quickly and a woody dryness midpalted that veers close to ashiness late....little in the way of rye tartness or spice detected by yours truly....finish harsh, bitter, charred. This is an unsubtle sledgehammer of an IIPA to my taste, but hopwhores might love it. stoutchap (297), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 1, 2006 Enjoyable. Solid copper pour. Piny notes in the nose. Nice IPA bitterness in the mouth, atouch of citrus, some alcohol mellowed by some malts. Would have again. (but it’s no Pliny) TomDecapolis (3130), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 1, 2006 Thanks to hopdog for sharing this. Pours a translucent copper amber with a large bubbly/creamy off white head that laced. Aroma of caramel, toffee, sweet malt, floral and some citrus. Flavor was toasty, nuts, sweet caramel, light hop bitterness and some grapefruit. hopdog (5534), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 1, 2006 22oz bottle. Poured deep amber / copper color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of floral, rye bread, and light citrus. Tastes of caramel, very light rye, and citrus (oranges and grapefruit). Light to medium alcohol in the finish. On the sweeter side. Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Dec 1, 2006 Clear red body with topped by a white ring. Did the color play trick on me but I got lots of non-sour cherries out of it. Other sweet fruits followed then a grassy flavour and then finally a fruity hops mild bitterness. Alcohol presence was what you expect for a 10%. The body was very oily and the carbonation was average. Decent beer but nothing spectacular. Rest In Pale Ale when you die!?! Jews do that?!? Where’s the nearest synagogue I’m converting.
