Pour is a almost brown but more a deep dark red with a huge white head. Aroma is enticing with lots of oily hops, molasses and a nutty smell to it. Flavor is again excellent. Lots of hops with some dark fruits and a strong malt (maybe the rye) presence. Very tasty and very easy to sip on as the alcohol does not get in the way. Hop heads will like it and non hop head should give it a try,

22 oz bomber. This beer is an interesting Imperial IPA in the fact that it is brewed with three different rye malts, and wheat thrown in for good measure. Pours to a garnet color, with a tight, white head that fades, and a soft carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent, with lots of good spicy rye aroma, paired with piney and citrus hop aromas. The palate is slick and oily on the tongue, with tons of flavor. Lots of good spicy rye malt flavor, paired with flavors of caramel malt, and toffee. This beer finishes with more good rye flavor, and then ends with some really good piney hop bitterness, and some peppery alcohol that lingers. You can really smell and taste the rye in this beer, making it unique and delicious. Very interesting, very flavorful, wonderful sipping brew. At 10% abv, a great beer to slowly work on and enjoy. If you can find this one, I suggest you pick some up. Shmaltz Brewing has really impressed me with their specialty beers. Great beer, and nice tribute to the legendary Lenny Bruce.

Pours a clear garnet with a creamy tan head that rests atop the beer as though it were sprayed there from a can of barley based shaving cream. The head also provides a solid curtain of lacing that coats the glass all the way to the bottom. Fruity aroma of grapefruit, fresh cut grass, pine needles and toffee. Well-balanced and aggressively hoppy flavor up front followed by a touch of brown sugar, citrusy grapefruit, vanilla bean and caramel. The texture is firm and creamy. Finishes with a flourish of mildly sweet malt and a controlled riot of hops - still very clean. Practically no alcohol aparent despite the 10% quantity. You might pick this up for its comedic and gimicky label but you’ll go out for another bottle after you sample what’s inside - a very good brew.

Nice clear dark brown with medium brown head. Aroma is citrus with bubblegum. Taste is bittwersweet, and somewhere between an IIPA and a barleywine, but it’s intensely bitter to the finish, and thereafter. $5/22oz

From a bomber. The body was very dark amber with a yellowish khaki colored head. The aroma was strong grapefruit with some almonds and a little bit of caramel. A massive aroma in this one. The was was lots of grapefruit with some rye and almonds. There was also some roast and a little tobacco. Too bitter and unblanced in my eyes.

22 oz. bottle. Deep clear copper pour and a huge, well sustained off white head leaving a fine, sticky lace hold great promise for what is to come. Hoppy aroma with notes of pine and spice doesn’t disappoint. There is also some aroma that I can’t pin down, maybe it’s the rye. I haven’t had enough rye ales to recognize it I guess. Whatever it is, it’s quite distinctive. Thick and resinous on the palate, and quite astringent. Predominately bitter, but supported by a little malty sweetness. Seems a bit unbalanced to me. Finish is lengthy and bitter. Alcohol not really a significant feature, except for the after effects. An unusual imperial IPA. Maybe it’s a bit overdone with the all of the rye malts, and lacking in some of the sweetness that barley brings to the game.

Red, darker than a typical IIPA, thick tan head. Nose full of very resiny hops. Flavor is quite muted for the style, some dusty malts and floral hops, but there’s nothing "imperial" about this one. Just not much going on.
