Wow, this is a serious beer. Packed with complex flavours, the malts and rye flavours come through, but not at the expense of the traditional IPA hops. This beer packs an initial wollop of aroma and flavour, improving as you drink it.

On tap. Pours a copper color with a nice dense tan colored head. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, caramel. Flavor is intense blast of grapefruit, spicy pine like notes, floral hops, malt. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finished with a biting bitterness. Very good.

Pours a reddish amber with a medium creamy orange head. The aroma was sweet, had a solid caramel malt backbone, rye is evident, earthy character, it resembles an "English" Imperial IPA. The flavor also has a sweet malty backbone, had a hoppy bitter profile, warming alcohol, waxy, caramel, earthy, fruity, bubblegum. The palate was waxy and warm.

(Bottled, Akkurat, stockholm 18 July) Colour is dark amber with hints of ruby. Frothy off-white head, leaving lots of lacing. Nose is initially mainly malty, sweet with notes of syrup and caramel, after a while the not so modest hops break through with citrussy grapefruit notes. Taste is very bitter, sweet with loads of hops and notes of pine needles and resin, some burnt caramel notes as well. Full bodied with an almost oily character. Long bittersweet finish. Rather complex, malty nose and hoppy, bitter taste. A nice one.

Pours a cloudy, dark ruby, copper color with a creamy, average, off-white head; it settles to a creamy, frothy layer and leaves some nice lace. Nose is nice but quite simple and a little faint; lots of grapefruit and lemon zest with light bready notes (rye?), light caramels, and some resins. Flavor is nice with initial notes of pink grapefruit and sweet caramels, then the minor notes fill in with some grains (mostly rye), light dired apricots, and some pine towards the finish. Palate is fitting being lively, sticky, moderate body, and velvety. Finishes with the moderately high bitterness at its peak with some lingering pine resins, light grapefruit and a rye note left in my mouth. A nice IIPA with a good rye base, an interesting twist on the style. Nothing overly complex but fairly well built.
