3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 dwedin (247) - Happy Valley, Oregon, USA - APR 5, 2010Big bubbled, thick and long lasting tan head. Sweet vanilla, roasted malt, floral aromas. Cloudy dark brown with a red tint. Very bitter and thick, strong alcohol burn, sour finish. At 10%, alcohol is not hidden but considering the strength, it blends in fairly well.

bottle. Amber with small head. Pretty standard big IPA. Huge hops, mild body. Decent, but not exceptional in any way.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 egardner01 (12) - Colorado, USA - JUN 16, 2013
Bottle. Beautiful ruby red/amber pour with an off-white long lasting head. Aroma of rye, alcohol, and pine. Taste of rye, malt and alcohol with pleasant bitterness, resin, and pine. It’s a different animal than most DIPAs, but is a very strong beer. Drink a few and you’ll be (very) happy.

Pours dark amber, with small fleeting tan head. Smells very malty. Tastes of malts, hops, medium bitter, and little caramel and slight alcohol. Very creamy with mild carbonation. Delicious beer.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 vvesside (191) - California, USA - JUN 8, 2013
A ton of hops, a ton of malt, and some rye flavor make for a pretty awesome DIPA.

This beer is an assault on the senses from every angle, but in a good way. The aroma is plainly an I.P.A. with floral and citrus notes, accented with a touch of cereal. The color is a crystal clear mahogany brown. With a straight pour, the head was just enough to fill the snifter, but dissipated within a couple of minutes. Taste-wise, the bitterness is all I.P.A. with complexities that keep you guessing. This beer leaves your mouth with a slight numbness, bitterness on the lips, and a long drawn out finish that hints at the rye.

Molasses, roasty, florescent smell, hoppy, bitter, dry aftertaste, caramel brown color. 10% ABV, pretty good IPA, if you are a hop head I would recommend this one.

Sample at Hopfest 2013. Comes reddish brown with a nice biege head. Aroma of malt, citrus, pine, and grass. Taste is caramel malt, citrus, pine, spice, and grass. A bit unusual, but very good.

Mix six from Total Wine. Darker golden pour with a white foamy head. Light floral and citrus smell (really light). Bitter with a distinct finish. Really no hops at all in the finish. I thought this was okay but it is strong.

Ultra smooth with a nice hoppy finish. Not for the faint of heart but an amazing beer.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2013 12oz bottle pours a dark ruby red copper color with a thick fluffy off white head that leaves great lacing. Smells of rye, pine, and resin and grapefruit. Tastes of all the same things in the smell and is definitely boozy enough to taste the high abv. Mouthfeel is slightly oily and creamy with good carbonation. Overall this is a really tasty ipa. I like the way the rye goes well with the hops. The only downfall is the boozyness.
