Bottle. The pour was a hazy chestnut brown with a head that was on the large side of average (1-2 finger) which eventually reduced to a few puddles with a large collar and had awesome sheets of lacing that coated the entire glass. The aroma was of a sweet dark bread malt, pine and resin hops and a doughy yeast with notes of toffee, rye and a bit of dark fruit (prunes and raisons). The taste was strong and boldly malty with a touch of dark fruit and toffee throughout with the finish having a slight rye bread flavor and a resiny hoppy ending. The flavor lingered for a very long time after the swallow with a nice sweet hoppiness left behind. Mouthfeel was medium in body with a dry creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Overall an extremely tasty, fulfilling brew that reminds me more of a Barleywine than a Double IPA...

12 oz. bottle, Purchased at Julio’s Liquors and received the Wild Six. Darker copper color with thin head in the snifter. Aroma is a pleasant fruit hop note initially followed by a nice rye and rounded by light caramel malt notes.

Oh YEAH! The flavor shows a nice rye presence through out the sip with a underlying fruit hop that transitions into a pine in the finish. The bitterness is a lingering pine with the fruit there put forward and giving way to the pine. Sweetness from the malts make this still on the balanced side. Overall this is a well balanced as described "bittersweet" piney, fruity with a light toffee/ caramel sweetness. Very nicely done, delightful to drink.

Aroma of rye and hops. Not a huge fan of the rye which is probably why I am not enjoying it as much. Nice malt and hop flavours though.

APPEARANCE - Transparent coppery red. 5-finger head that lasts awhile. Some lacing. SMELL/AROMA/SCENT - Very aromatic. I could smell it from 3 ft. away. Strong piney, just a little sweet. Herbaceous. TASTE - Piney, herbaceous, cloves, rye bread. ABV very well-hidden. MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Light and dry, with very good carbonation for a high ABV brew. Well balanced. OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - This is the Levy’s Jewish Rye of IPAs. Magnificent resiny aftertaste that stays with you. A very drinkable ale. You can guzzle this one (if you dare).

Mmmm. Pours deep red with a small off white head. Aroma is huge amounts of sweet malt. Body is heavy with a full mouthfeel. Finishes smooth with a slight bite.

Clear amber, short, rich frothy head, light lace. Nice malt and good hop aroma. Caramel vanilla tones. Great malt and hop flavor also. Smooth and creamy, not too dry. Pretty impressive, drinks easier than I would have expected with no offness or much booziness. Little bit on the end but hops and malt dominate. In a way this reminds me some of maharaja almost. Probably the hop combo and possibly some of the malts. Dig this. Ton of good hops and malts.

Dark copper with big brownish head. Aroma of caramel, liquorice, sweet malt. Soft on palate, incredible range of flavours from toffee and burned caramel to raisins and resiny malt. Impressive but not really to my taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle sample at He’Brew tasting at Beer&Beyond shop. Clear amber-red with a small head. Aroma of hops, dried fruits, spices and alcohol. Sweet, flavors of caramel malts, fruits and toffee, strong hoppy bitterness, alcoholic, a bit medicinal and spicy. Medium bodied, chewy. Bold but too aggressive and boozy for my liking.

Bottle to pint glass. No best by or born on dating. Pours clear amber/red with a decent one finger head that leaves a decent cap. Aroma is caramel malt and hops. Taste follows through with a nice rye bite at the end. Finish is full and slick with decent carbonation. Really good beer overall. Nice and balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
