COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Take aim at Shmaltz’s newest year-round offering, an American Craft Lager thoughtfully created to stand up to the big beer Goliaths of the world. Boasting a bright, citrusy hop aroma, supported by touches of wheat and rye, Slingshot is guaranteed to strike the craft beer bullseye every time.

Slingshot pours a bright straw color with a thin white head and light lacing. The aroma features juicy, tropical fruit notes of peach, lemon and red grapefruit with the light spice accent of noble hops. The polished malt bill is mainly 2-row pale malt with portions of Vienna and a touch of wheat and rye to add a delicate balance to the spice and fruit. It is medium in body with a smooth refreshing mouthfeel to make Slingshot a well-balanced, easy drinking American craft lager.

On draught at Bailey’s Taproom. Golden clear in color. Crisp tropical fruit hop aroma. Quite a hoppy flavor for a lager. Citrus and pineapple notes. Finishes slightly bitter.

This was poured into a pilsener glass. The appearance was a murky bronzed orange color with a one finger white foamy head. Quick dissipation. Foamy rings of clingy lace. The aroma starts sweet bready with sweet grassy hops that spike the breadiness cleanly sending a stellar balance of it all hitting my nose. Light lemon blends in as it warms. Really nice! The flavor takes it all in to bring the maltiness forward sweetly with a dry underscore of some bitter hops. The aftertaste is sweet crisp breadiness with a quick sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fantastic sessionability about it. Low carbonation. Semi-sticky but good, not cloying. Overall, damn nice pale lager. I’d be glad to have this again.

12 ounce bottle received in a beer of the month club box. Hazy golden with a fluffy white two finger head. A thick layer of lacing. Citrus, lemon and grass in the aroma. That is tasted along with grains and light noble hop spiciness. Pretty decent stuff.

Clear golden yellow with creamy white head.Aromas of tropical fruit, some banana and malt sweetness. Some fruits and faint hops in the background come out on the tongue. Light body. Crisp, refreshing and drinkable lager.

This was surprisingly legit. I think a lot of breweries would call this a Pilsener even though it’s not really as the hop character is all wrong. It’s nice though. It pours golden w/ a creamy head. The hop character is bring and fruity w/ just a touch of spiciness to it. It does have a bit of a green character around the edges which is not my favorite but it’s still nice tasting overall. It’s full bodied and slightly juicy while being only a little sweet. It finishes w/ some green herbal and earthy bitterness. I’d probably drink the hell out of this if it was local.

Hoppy, tropical, candy-like, slightly-dirty aroma expressed as pineapple juice, gelatin, sherbet, plastic, orange liqueur, fusels. Medium-light body, syrupy-filmy-oily with medium+ bitterness, finishing green and wet and lightly sour.

Draught @ Albion, Slightly cloudy golden yellow with small frothy off-white head, very faint malt aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter ,malt taste. thin body, abrupt finish. Not bad for a generic lager.

Rich scent of Smokey wood bitter malts and a bit of lemon zest. Slight haze golden color with extremely small white head. Taste rich of bitter sweet malts and a bit woody smooth dry finish. Medium body with sweet crisp carbonation. Nice lager for east coast just a tad bit bitter for a really great lager but very crushable beer. Keep up the good work.

Draft pour. The beer is a clear gold with a white head of foam. The aroma has floral and pine notes. Some fruity sweetness comes through in the taste. Medium carbonation, medium body, prickly mouthfeel.

12oz bottle pours a aroma of caramel malt, light grain and yeast, with mild lemon citrus. Taste is sweet and fruity, caramel, very light bitterness and yeast on finish. Too much going on really, flavors never come together, like they had a hard deciding if they wanted to make a pale ale or lager.
