Pours a very dark brown with med tan head. I smell malt, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and some tart sweet fruit. I taste all of the same! It’s kind of sweet and sour, very complex. Damn Good!!!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 6/12/15, Batch #2, Bottled 2/18/13
Press a dark brown color with a slight orange hue and a small head. The aroma is sweet, dark malts, some bozzy notes, chocolate, and funk. Tastes rather funky and a little sweet. Medium-full body, average carbonation. Decent, but maybe a bit too much going on.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a murky lighter brown with a white head. Aroma was of caramel, dark fruits, and light Brett. Dark fruit and light lactic fatness actually kind of work together here.

Bottle, shared with Parksy, phantomhennes, TvM, and heavylaevy. Murky dark amber brown. Funky malty nose. Flavours of chocolate, brown bread, sour cherries, barnyard. Malty, funky, modestly sour-- a combination that really resonates with me.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Much different than the 2015 (which was tangy/sour).
Pours a dark black with excellent lacing.
Nose - It has grapes and chocolate notes with a rich maltiness.
Taste - medium (to just below) mouthfeel. It has a nice balance of sweet and bitter with chocolate, dark fruits, grape skins and a charred oak note lingering into the finish.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a well-aged bottle. Deep purple-black with a football-colored head like spun sugar. Aroma is complex, as you might expect: dark cherry, raisin, oak, cola, vinegar, cocoa, smoke. The flavor has more acidity in the form of balsamic vinegar, lemon, cherry, sharp oak, toffee and green apple. Sharp, lingering acidity and a touch of astringency. Creamy medium body, mild CO2. A smooth, complex blend of ales and lagers.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber, cellared for about 1.5 years. Tart dark fruit aroma with some caramel, bourbon and a bit of rye. Pours dark brown with a thin light brown head with excellent lacing. Starts with rich dark fruit and caramel flavors. Finishes smooth with tart cherry flavor and a bit of vinegar. Good, but the finish is a little vinegary.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bottle in a teku. Pours dark brown with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of sourness, some oak, darker and caramel malts, and some dark fruits. Flavor the same with the sourness just too much and too vinegary. Average texture. Interesting and might be better fresher, but right now it’s too sour and vinegar like.

650ml bottle, bottled 2/18/13. Pours a deep brown/black with a thin, tan head. Aroma has smooth notes of tart cherries, caramel, vanilla, oak, and spice. Really nice. Taste is sweet/tart with cherries, spice, raspberries, and mild oak. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall complex with smooth barrel notes and tart cherry/raspberries.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Black pour under a generous foamy light khaki head. Dark and sultry nose of dark toffee and figs with a sour woody char barrel with some brown sugary bourbon and plum and lacto bacteria. Big dark and sweet flavor with raisin and figs and dark malty brown sugar with deep caramel and a light sour twang. Lovely deep dark sweet malts with a lush, stone fruit flavor and dry sour twangy finish with a rye whiskey barrel finish. Amazing.
