3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to eg@/?5!s for opening this aged bottle...
Appears an orange toned amber with a tiny, off white head that quickly fades into a mild collar. Splattered spots of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of malted grains, citrus, and juicy pomegranate juice.
Taste is of citrus, malt, and cocoa infused pomegranate with berries.
Mouthfeel is light bodied with alcohol in the background, leading to a thin finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ya want me to say something about this. Yeah, I see this is retired. Ho-hum, yeah, I’ve had this when it wasn’t retired. Here goes.
Okay, into a pint glass and a snifter (oh yeah, two bottles, here we go).
The appearance was a decent looking hazy burnt orange to brown color with a decent looking one finger foamy head that leads to a fairly sticking lacing.
The smell had a decent sweet malty to somewhat citrusy hoppy aroma rolling all around my nose and misleading me to an extent to try to invade a sort of bitter hoppiness. Does it? Ha, I’m actually not mislead, as for the most part, its not.
The taste is fairly sweet through the malts and there really isn’t much malty sweetness at all. The aftertaste and finish, ah, well, its not there whatsoever.
On the palate, this one sits at/about a fairly light to medium with a somewhat sessionable sort of quality running about the mouth and tongue. The carbonation is there, its not misleading as it shows a decent sharpness but its nothing overbearing.
Overall, kinda glad I can get Schmaltz in SE Alaska, weird, but okay, I’ll never understand distro in this nation, but if anything okay, not a bad brew. Worthy of having again, sure will, I’d check into this. Cheers y’all.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. The aroma is strong of berries, fruity, alcohol, melanoidin rich malts. The rich bready malt character is the flavor. The alcohol is strong and warming. Nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark black with a thick caramel head that dies nicely to a small ring. The aroma is thick and sweet, but a little stale. Taste is very overly sweet, balanced with a smoky taste, but not perfectly balanced. Very sugary. Palate is a little watery, but perfect. Could improve greatly with age.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
You can definitely smell and taste the alcohol. Beer is very fruity and hoppy. There are hints of caramel and a lot of citrus flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
650ml bomber pours amber in color with a finger of off-white head which leaves little lacing on the glass. Aroma is light roasted malts with some caramel and pomegranate and an earthy hoppy bitterness with hints of citrus. Taste is light roasted malt bitterness with some caramel and light chocolate malt sweetness and the pomegranate juice and a moderate earthy and light citrus bitterness in the finish. An interesting beer that was quite tasty.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. bottle shared by 618Brews- thanks, Kid! He said this was still sitting on shelves locally at Friar Tuck. Pours a cloudy orange color, murkier in the middle and brighter yellow on the sides, with a small white head. Aroma of pomegranate, caramel and sweet malts, honey, wine-like alcohol, and wood. Flavor is boozy up front, with sweet malts, honey, sugar, tropical fruits, and pomegranate juice last. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, boozy mouthfeel. Just a bit too alcoholic for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Pours a clear deep orange amber color with a large off white head. The aroma is slightly toasted caramel, citrus, and some fruitiness. Tastes of pomegranate juice, caramel, berries, hints of citrus, some chocolate, and fruity. The alcohol remains well hidden throughout. This is definitely on the sweet side.
