355ml brown bottle. Orange coloured, a bit unclear with some fine haze. Thick white cap, impressive thick lace. Nose has orange peel, some caramel. Taste has sweetness upfront, caramel malts, late hop flavours of pithy orange peel, grass. A bit of earthiness. Bitter finish, leafy, grassy aftertaste. Medium body, strong carbonation. Hop profile is bolder than expected, this is a nice well hopped amber ale, pretty simple but very drinkable.

12 oz bottle at the CDA Casino. Pours hazy orange with a large cream-colored lacy head. Aroma is grainy, macro-ish. It starts to get a little more interesting as it sits--herbal tea and clove characters come out. Taste is lightly sweet and grainy with a slightly dry bitter finish. Carbonation is average, body is medium to light. Pretty boring.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Butters (2841) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - DEC 12, 2011
Hazy light brown pour with ring of offwhite head. A little fruity malt sweetness with a floral hop pop on the tail. Slight cardboard oxidation on the finish. Nothing really offensive, but nothing special either. Maybe this would be better fresh?
