3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 topherh (1709) - Kearney, Missouri, USA - MAR 8, 2011
Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is caramel and hops. Flavor is sweet, light burnt caramel, with a good bit of hoppy bitterness.

He’brew Genesis Ale has a fairly thick, off-white head and a pretty clear, amber appearance, with lots of active carbonation and some lacing left behind. The aroma is mainly sweet and bready, but some over-ripe, slightly turned smell shows up. Taste is very hop oriented with bitterness, piney flavor, and some sweetness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and He’brew Genesis Ale finishes easy drinking and wet. Overall, this is a good ale, aside from that sort of off aroma.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jb (1540) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 23, 2011
Hazy amber, minimal head, spotty lacing. Nuts, malt, caramel nose. Palate is malty, with a bit of hoppiness, not much, certainly not a west coast amount. Decent beer, nothing special, maybe more of an english style.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pinkandgeek (53) - Georgia, USA - JAN 22, 2011
12 oz bottle, pours a hazy copper with very little off white head. Fig aroma in the nose. Slight bitterness, mild herb in the body.

Thanks to my brother for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours an amber/orange color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the toffee and earthy hops. The flavor is a mix of earthy and piney hops, along with some toffee and caramel malt. The flavor also has a dirt quality to it, but not in a bad way - as weird as that may sound. Very well balanced and very drinkable. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nothing too exciting, but a nice beer nonetheless.

bottle from my grandpa: hazy copper pour. arouma is nuts and raisins faint whiff of coco. sweet toffee, caramel and toasty malts. crystal and munich is really coming through. Balance is rather nice, light bitterness cuts through the sweetness. Style is an amber ale, I think. its got that old sweat socks thing going on at the edges, but actually not bad.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DavoleBomb (965) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 11, 2011
Poured into a pint glass.
3.0 A: Clear amber color. Not much head, poor retention, and some lacing.
3.5 S: A mild fruitiness. Some citrus. Sweet malty. Herbal hop aroma.
4.0 T: Good hoppy backbone. Good balance with hop and malt characters. Malts give off some caramel, but the main focus is hop bitterness and flavor (earthy).
3.5 M: Medium body. Good carbonation and smooth.
4.0 D: Pretty good. Enough flavor to keep from being bored.
For as big as the hop character is in this beer, the appearance and head mostly really suck. This a good beer.

Medium body good looking golden brown oven roasted turkey brown color. Grassy hops, light brown ale only in color. More of a Scotch Ale ’Light". I always thought this was a gimmick beer based on the name, He’Brew. Taste of Genesis Ale is different...sellable..have to try more of their beers to obtain a wider view of the brewery’s offerings.
