Pours deep copper into a shaker. White head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Mild malt and sour fruit aromas. Dry with upfront sour fruit and a lasting caramel finish.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 troyc (2014) - Oklahoma, USA - SEP 20, 2010
[Bottle] Pours a light amber color with a small white head. Nose is of grassy hops and some lemon. The taste is of caramel, toasted malts and some biscuit. Lasting crisp hop finish. Good body and carbonation level. A basic beer, and an easy drinker as well.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 bigbish (354) - Colorado, USA - AUG 22, 2010
Pours a reddish copper color, not much of a head. Aroma is a caramel punch in the nose, smells very malty and sweet. The flavor is similar to the aroma, only not as strong. Lots of caramel sweetness. The palate is very thin, which surprised me at first, but then I’ve seen that they market it as a Light Brown Ale. Because of that, I’ll give them a 0.3 point bump. I would typically prefer thicker, but since they are trying to go lighter, this is exactly what I would expect. Great flavor, not too heavy. Very nice.

Not a great beer at all, not terrible, I wouldnt buy it again. I was expecting substantially more. darker than style would warrant, pretty bland and drinkable.

Pours a medium amber color with a small but persistent head and nice lacing. Nose is yeasty, somewhat floral, and with a slight medicinal note. Taste is tart, bittersweet, and slightly chalky. Some hay or grass notes are present. Finish is sweet/tart with some lingering grass. A pretty good American Pale Ale, but not an outstanding one.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 durhambeer (2028) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 27, 2010
Bottle from A Southern Season. Pours hazy amber. Hmmm... has qualities of a light brown sweet beer like Newcastle and some amber flavors... not so much pale ale, really. Too malty, thought there is some hop presence. More honey flavors and lightly toasted malt that come across slightly bready. Not really feeling this one.
