2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
1 of 3 random 12 ounce beers I picked up at the Chico World Market. Turns out to be better than I was expecting having been stored under harsh lighting and with no refrigeration. I think this is a good example of a "Just above average" type beer. Nothing stands out too much, it’s got some hops, some malts a little paper and not much else. I guess what actually stands out is that it doesn’t stand out.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a hazy dark golden orange color with apricot edges and a one finger white head that quickly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy floral hop aroma with hints of pine needle and fresh cut grass countered by caramel malt sweetness, toffee, and biscuit. Kind if bland without much else going on. One dimensional hop profile and the malt presence is stronger than I prefer.
Light bodied with delicate hop bitterness that lingers over the sweet malt backbone into a slightly dry finish. Light and easy to drink but not very complex or interesting. Dry, grassy bitterness countered by caramel malt, biscuit, toffee and a touch of dark fruit. Hop profile is one dimensional but has decent flavor. Malt presence is stronger than I prefer but provides some needed balance. Sessionable but kind of boring.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Slight hazy amber color with a big soapy head. Strong burnt caramel malt aromas with a touch of pepper and honey. Bitter on the palate and not very well-balanced. Leans toward the bitter side. Malts are there but seem burned and astringent. Finish is bitter and astringent.

I don’t know about this one. It’s not very good and just a pain to describe. It’s basically a bad amber ale. The flavors are kind of weird and I can’t decide if this is a novelty beer or not. I don’t think it is. It’s kind of malty.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
far more bitter than malty. a good, complex beer for the style, but it comes off just a bit harsh. like i said, more bittering hops, and maybe not enough citrusy high floral aroma hops. pretty good still."

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Definitely more of an amber than a hoppy pale ale. Awful pour, tons of head with no lacing. Lots of malt flavours. Meh.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent amber/red color with a slight transparency to it. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess that dissipated within less than a minute.
The smell had some crisp caramel malts coming through in a slightly dry sort of way.
The taste was fairly sweet through the malts.
On the palate, this one sat fairly light and had a fairly good sessionability about it.
Overall, this was a decent Amber ale as its nothing to go bonkers about.

Pours an amber color with off-white head. Caramel malts and some roast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Pretty average amber ale.

341ml bottle. Pours copper with finger of off white head. Aromas are hoppy, floral, citrus, some dried apricot, a little toffee. Taste is of tropical fruits, toffee, grapefruit. Medium carbonation starts slightly sweet and finishes with a nice lingering bitter.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a dark orange with amber hues and a large off white head that leaves quite a bit of stixky lacing. Nice mix of malt and hop in the aroma. Picking up caramel, wheat, dough, and earthy hops in the nose. Taste is also an excellent balance of hops and malts. Getting caramel, light citrus, floral, wheat, white bread, and pine. Very crisp and refreshing. Long slightly bitter finish of caramel malts and light citrus. Medium bodied, surprisingly somewhat thick texture, lively carbonation. Very, very nice beer. Not really a "session" beer as it is over 5%, but it’s certainly a beer I could drink several of in a sitting. Very easy drinker.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Drinkable, but not bad. Amber in colour and in some features. Somewhat thin and nice malty tastes.
