COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the new recipe replacing the original He’Brew Genesis ale. Balanced between a West Coast style pale and amber ale with just enough malt sweetness to highlight a flurry of hop aroma and flavor. Witness the evolution of our original creation.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off white, mostly lasting. Body is medium to dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain/bread, caramel), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), with a light note of diacetyl. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic, lightly astringent. Ordinary aroma, a bit buttery. Ok flavor balance, although a bit citric. Nice lasting head, but overall a pretty bog standard pale ale.

DSG (6261) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JUL 12, 2014
Bottle sample at a He’Brew tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma of floral and citric hops, slightly stale, with caramel, malt, biscuits and a bit of fruitiness. Sweetish malty flavor, a bit biscuity and caramelly, with some fruitiness and slightly stale hops bitterness, a bit citric. Medium-bodied. Decent.

1/27/12. 12oz bottle. Clear amber pour with a small khaki head. Plain aroma with some caramel malt. Sweet caramel flavor with pale malts, a touch of roast, and lingering citrusy hop character. Meh.

"Think i had this a bit past it’s prime, as the other reviews on here are older than mine, and this "hoppy" session brew had a rather weak, uninspired hop profile. Light citrus and bready malts, average across the board."

Bottle, clear amber color with short foam, dry malty cardboard aroma and flavor, some hoppiness but pretty bland overall

Pours a deep tan .. medium head, awesome cloudy lacing .. . homework sucks .. . light wood, light bitter malt can, and unsweetened molasses .. nice bitterness level, short finish .. . alright stuff, was expecting much more though .. . . marriage isn’t a salad bar!

Bottle. Pours the color of dark-stained oak furniture, with a thin off-white head. The initial aroma is reminiscent of brewery tours when they let you you taste some toasted malt ... yummy. This drinks with that same toasty edge right up front. I’m not getting a lot of "west coast" hoppiness here, but it is a very well balanced beer, with just a hint of spruce at the finish. The beer pours an orange-amber color with a white head. The aroma has some toffee and biscuit malt in it, as well as some grass and a little bit of pine from the hops. The flavor has a decent amount of biscuit malt, with the grassy hops standing out. I also get a little bit of pine and maybe a hint of orange from the hops. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle to pint. Looks solid for the style; a transparent amberish dark orange with off-white lacing and lively carbonation. Smells of robust citrus hops and malt. Tastes like it smells, but significantly less hoppy. Average on the palate. Decent beer, but it smells better than it tastes.
