COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the new recipe replacing the original He’Brew Genesis ale. Balanced between a West Coast style pale and amber ale with just enough malt sweetness to highlight a flurry of hop aroma and flavor. Witness the evolution of our original creation.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured clear copper nice head, decent lacing. Aroma is tamed not too strong, malts and hops some caramel in there too. Taste is fruity, sweet (caramel), mildly hoppy. This is a nice and drinkable beer, very enjoyable.

"Think i had this a bit past it’s prime, as the other reviews on here are older than mine, and this "hoppy" session brew had a rather weak, uninspired hop profile. Light citrus and bready malts, average across the board."

I had this at Global Brew. Pours amber with a white head. Taste Carmel, sweet, lightly bitter. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s into a pint glass. Light amber appearance. Aroma and flavor is old, musty, malty and sweet with mild hop bitterness (resin, pine). May have been on the shelf a while.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber with a moderate-large yellow-white head that lasted until nearly mid-glass and left a dense layer of foam with each sip. The aroma is not hoppy at all despite being dry hopped. There is a lot of banana in the nose along with some caramel. The flavor is malt, banana and caramel with moderate, mostly flavorless, hops bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.

Transfer from BA review on 11-2-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a deep-amber/copper colored brew with a big white head. The head is billowy and fades over a few minutes to leave some decent lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell – The smell is largest of a strong bready aroma. Mixed with this aroma are some aromas of a grapefruit hop as well as a lighter pine smell. Rather nice. Taste – The taste starts with a bready flavor mixed with a light caramel sweetness and some grapefruit hop. The grapefruit grows stronger and is accompanied by some more floral hop tastes. As these come to light, the sweetness begins to fade. As the taste advances more toward the end, a pine taste then comes to the tongue. In the end a slightly bitter and bready flavor are left to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the average side in its thickness with a carbonation level that is rather low. The body is decent for the flavors and the session style of the brew, but a higher level of carbonation would have made it more “session” like. Overall – A pretty tasty brew. It had a good hop taste profile with a decent balance of the taste, as there was a lighter sweetness and some bready flavors mixed with the hop.

Bottle. A yellow color with a white head. A fair hoppy aroma with a nice malt base but hardly a session ale at 5.6% abv..

Methinks that this reworked version of Genesis Ale could use some more reworking. He’Brew is known for making some great hoppy beers but this isn’t one of them. Don’t get me wrong, this "dry hopped session ale" has some nice flavors - caramel and mild hoppy bitterness, namely - but it’s not memorable. The aroma is very faint (so much for that dry hopping) and the flavors lack complexity. While I liked the dark orange color, the head was average at best and the mouthfeel wasn’t especially crisp. In the end, my main gripe with Genesis is a common lament from hop heads: not enough hops.

Bottle sample at a He’Brew tasting at Beer & Beyond. Almost clear amber-copper with a small head. Aroma of floral and fruity hops, caramel and spicy notes. Sweet, fruity and caramel malts flavors, mild hoppy bitterness. Light-medium bodied, dry and crispy. Not fresh enough, but still nice.

Bottle sample at He’Brew Brewery tasting at Beer&Beyond, Tel Aviv. Clear orange with small white head. Sweetish malty aroma, caramel, toffee. Flavor of sweet malt, light bitterness. Dry bitter aftertaste. Low to medium body.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light slightly foamy and clingy lacing sticking nicely to the glass. The smell had some light sweet citrus hops and a little bit of caramel malt thrown in there. The taste was mainly sweet but had a light bitterness to it. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly good sessionability about it. The carbonation struck my tongue harsh enough to definitely be an APA. Overall, I say this was a pretty good APA worthy of having again.
