3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home while visiting Jacksonville. Pours amber gold with a white head. Sweet trop fruit (mango/pineapple) aroma with light caramel, candy, pine and lemon. Medium body, medium carbonation. Caramel, light mango, piney resin stuff, toast, marmalade, grapefruit bitter... Decent balance, slightly too sticky for me but tasty enough.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ausbalanciert süßlich hopfiger Antrunk, durch trockene Noten bleibt die Süße gering. Milde, sich aber ausbreitende Herbe, spritzig, hell holzig, der Hopfen wird zum Ende dunkler. Wenig fruchtig. 11/12/11/10/12/11

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice deep gold appearance with average head, yet good retention. Rings of lacing. Piney, earthy hop aroma with caramel and grapefruit. Big bitter and citrus flavor. Some resin and soft, sweet malt. Chewy. Very, very good! Excellent IPA; such explosive flavor I would have thought it a double without knowing beforehand. One of the top 15 regular IPAs I’ve had, and easily the best thing I’ve had so far from He’Brew/Shmaltz Brewing. Reminds me quite a bit of fresh Union Jack, actually.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home. Hazy amber gold pour. Huge fluffy white head. It has a faint Brett aroma along with some citrus. Bretty flavors of leather, dank hops, funk, orange. Finishes bitter and earthy. Quite yeasty, I’m surprised there’s not any mention of Brett in the other reviews.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy, light orange with a creamy, light beige head.
Minty-resiny, tropical hop and fruit aroma.
Taste is bright orange malt, grapefruit-peel.
Tingly carbonation, lively citrus....
Very tasty bittering/sweet fruit blending.
A nice one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 ml bottle from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. 28JA15.
App.: Clear deep amber with a full yellowish-light tan head.
Aroma: Richly fruity hops, tropical fruits, some pungent citrus and light cat pee, moderate malt support with light melanoidin, lightly sweet, quite inviting.
Palate: Medium+ body, creamy carbonation.
Flav.: Lots of lovely tropical fruits, a bit of cat pee and resin, minimal malt contribution; dry with decent bitterness and a slightly dusty and malty finish with good fruitiness and a healthy dose of cat pee/pungent something something.
The Citra contribution was a double-edged sword. It offered some nice aroma/flavour and also a bit of something that I don’t like.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Bought a sampler 12 pack. Not much aroma. Golden straw in color. Taste is like it was infected. Medicinal flavor. Have had other brews from them that we’re real good, others were real bad. Perhaps I just got a real bad 12 pack. The Rye IPA was very good, but this is getting dumped, just like the long shot.

Lots of wet, green hops in this one, making for a little basil and oregano in the flavor. It is similar to some of the Vermont IPAs I had recently, but a touch thinner. Good.
