COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the book of Exodus, the ancient Hebrews survived 400 years of bondage before the ultimate supreme court dropped the 10 deadly Plagues on the land of the taskmasters and the head dictator, Pharaoh. Even then, only begrudgingly, did he Let My People Go. The freedom ride across, nay through the sea left a band of wandering nomads broke and suffering, no doubt with a profound hunger – and a mighty thirst. Enter the Manna: a glorious gift to nourish body and soul. Manna was said to combine the tastes of everything most delicious to each individual, depending on their desire. And as the Good Book says, Each shall gather according to one’s need and shall enjoy a double portion for thine chosen day of rest. Manna fed the entire tribe, but tradition suggests the righteous received manna ground in a heavenly mill, while the wicked had to grind it below for themselves. Hear o’ Tribe of Shmaltz – Behold: A celebration of the flower of the craft beer revolution! A golden opportunity to feed your inner hop head and rejoice in HOP MANNA, our newest delicacy of the modern He’brew Beer family. L’Chaim! Dry Hopped with Centennial, Cascade and Citra (Centennial and Cascade in Batch 4).

Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt and hop aromas of cereal, roasted, caramel, pine and grapefruit, lght soap for the yeast with date and brown sugar in the background. Heas is large, frothy/fizzy, light beige with excellent thick lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear medium amber. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic to start, and finishes lightly acidic and heavily bitter. Palate medium, slick with a soft to lively carbonation. Great balance between the malt and hops in the aroma, and very well rounded flavors in this superb IPA.

Hops a bit too unbalanced. The hops dominate, of course. Aside from the citrus, pine, and dirt aroma, there is a distinct foot smell. The citra hops are underwhelming.

orange amber color, aroma of caramel, citrus fruits, flavors of sweet caramel, citrus hops, good balance, dry, lingering bitter finish, enjoyable IPA

Pungent hop aroma. Good if you like the particular hop combo, but I was not a fan. Taste was bitter with a nice caramel flavor and the same strong hop flavor that was on the aroma. Mouth feel was decent and slightly creamy, aftertaste was lingering and sudzy.

A fair white head covers the cloudy, rather pretty darkish gold. Green, gently catty, citrusy nose with a certain dank aspect to it is not necessarily all that intense, but nicely accentuated by the malt which pleasantly remains in the background and merely serve a support role. Nice texture, it’s relatively thin, but punctuated by myriads of efficient medium-sized bubbles which all contribute to drying the palate out. Rather than being straight up bitterness, the finish feels bubbly and somehow diminished by hints of chlorine and soap - like the best flavor compounds were best delivered by the aroma than the post-taste in whic the negative aspects are flashing. A drinkable animal, but the finish seems a bit off and it seems that if they meant to take the minimalistic in terms of hops, they could have extended the boundaries a little further with their hop aroma extraction.

Bottle poured an orange amber color with a thin covering of off white head. Aroma has earthy hops, resins, caramel, flowers, and malt. Mouth feel is medium light and the carbonation average. Flavor brings on resins, pine, medium bitterness, some malt, and citrus touches. nicely done ipa leaning a bit to the bitter side and leaving me wondering where the delicious dry hops have gone.

Really tasty little IPA. Pours a sparkly golden orange in the body with a massive fluffy off white head that leaves sticky lacing everywhere. The nose is sweet and nicely hopped up with big citrus fruits and resin notes. The flavor while not overblown at all, has a great floral and citrus hop taste. Overall, not insane hoppy or resinous, but tasty for sure.

On tap at Little Woodrow’s. Pours bright amber orange. Amazing fresh melon, pine, pineapple aroma on this one. Flavor is the same along with smooth finish, not as bitter as I like, but easy to drink and smooth all the way down. Excellent session IPA -- I’m converted. Excellent example of the style without being way over the top.

Bottle; poured a dark orange with a large, frothy off white head. Aroma of orange, earth, citrus, pine. A bit of caramel. Very resinous aroma. Flavor also had an oiliness to it from the hops. A nice hop bite in the finish, which lingers, and then gives a hint of caramel-sweetness. Alcohol was fairly assertive for the abv. Yet, it was quite drinkable.

2012 Portland International Beerfest. Hoppy IPA with light bitterness throughout. A dry finish on the sweet side.
