COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the book of Exodus, the ancient Hebrews survived 400 years of bondage before the ultimate supreme court dropped the 10 deadly Plagues on the land of the taskmasters and the head dictator, Pharaoh. Even then, only begrudgingly, did he Let My People Go. The freedom ride across, nay through the sea left a band of wandering nomads broke and suffering, no doubt with a profound hunger – and a mighty thirst. Enter the Manna: a glorious gift to nourish body and soul. Manna was said to combine the tastes of everything most delicious to each individual, depending on their desire. And as the Good Book says, Each shall gather according to one’s need and shall enjoy a double portion for thine chosen day of rest. Manna fed the entire tribe, but tradition suggests the righteous received manna ground in a heavenly mill, while the wicked had to grind it below for themselves. Hear o’ Tribe of Shmaltz – Behold: A celebration of the flower of the craft beer revolution! A golden opportunity to feed your inner hop head and rejoice in HOP MANNA, our newest delicacy of the modern He’brew Beer family. L’Chaim! Dry Hopped with Centennial, Cascade and Citra (Centennial and Cascade in Batch 4).

Wood and caramel dominated aroma with piney accents. Clear copper, medium head. Fresh split oak flavor, caramel notes are understated. More citrusy orange peel in the finish. A malty IPA, just what I expected from Shmaltz.

A kinder more gentle IPA....beautiful color with a thin cap of off white head that replenishes with a little swirl. The nose is softer citrus hops with orange being predominate. The taste is much like the aroma, softly smooth with a light hop bite backed by buttery malts. The finish is pleasant and comfortable. Overall a good IPA.

At first I was a bit put off by this beer, primarily due to the light carbonation. I’ve since found myself coming back to it, because it really does seem to be a unique combination of hops. It’s similar to many American IPAs in being very hop-heavy, but there’s something about the mix, and/or the dry hopping that really makes it a very unique flavor. While it is NOT well balanced, in terms of hops v. malt, the balance between the different hops is very interesting-- tons of citrusy grapfruitiness up front, but then a lot of butterscotchy, softer aftertaste.

650ml bottle. It pours a clear amberish orange with a foamy white head. The smell is decent. Bready malt, sugar, along with some citrus, slight dank, and some alcoholic notes. The flavor is nice. Decent bitterness to start. Nice piney notes, some tropical notes, citrus, sweetness. It isn’t over the top hoppy or bitter but to me it isn’t too sweet. The alcohol in the smell didn’t really carry over to taste. Some of the beers people are comparing this to are correct. It is a nice IPA. I would have like just a bit better of an aroma. It was more of the malt in the aroma that lacked any sort of character. It isn’t bad.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy copper orange with a medium white head. Aroma is very resinous hop heavy, loads of caramel malt to back, oranges and grapefruit. Flavour of mandarin oranges, grapefruit, tropical fruits, buttery caramel malts, and truckloads of resinous hops that linger very pleasantly with little astringency. Excellent IPA.

Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma is very hoppy, mostly pine and citrus. Mouthfeel is sticky and resinous, little carbonation. Pine and citrus hop flavor, hints of grapefruit, orange with a lot of sugary sweetness. Finish is short, with lingering hoppiness. it’s pretty good. Not as balanced as I would like but it is called "Hop Manna".

beerbill (3377) - Laurel, New York, USA - MAY 12, 2012
22 oz. bottle. Pours a very lightly hazed medium gold with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma that is dominated by grapefruit along with perhaps a touch of caramel. The flavor begins with malt and caramel, but is quickly overrun by grapefruit that is both fruit and pith. Moderate-strong bitterness at the finish. On the fuller side of medium bodied. Excellent IPA.

Better than expected. Pours cloudy orange with white head, decent lacing. Lots of citrus in the nose. Somewhat creamy palate, medium body, with lots of grapefruit, some pine, and finishing bitterness, very refreshing.
