COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the book of Exodus, the ancient Hebrews survived 400 years of bondage before the ultimate supreme court dropped the 10 deadly Plagues on the land of the taskmasters and the head dictator, Pharaoh. Even then, only begrudgingly, did he Let My People Go. The freedom ride across, nay through the sea left a band of wandering nomads broke and suffering, no doubt with a profound hunger – and a mighty thirst. Enter the Manna: a glorious gift to nourish body and soul. Manna was said to combine the tastes of everything most delicious to each individual, depending on their desire. And as the Good Book says, Each shall gather according to one’s need and shall enjoy a double portion for thine chosen day of rest. Manna fed the entire tribe, but tradition suggests the righteous received manna ground in a heavenly mill, while the wicked had to grind it below for themselves. Hear o’ Tribe of Shmaltz – Behold: A celebration of the flower of the craft beer revolution! A golden opportunity to feed your inner hop head and rejoice in HOP MANNA, our newest delicacy of the modern He’brew Beer family. L’Chaim! Dry Hopped with Centennial, Cascade and Citra (Centennial and Cascade in Batch 4).

Bottle. Pours with a lightly hazed copper hued body with a medium white head. Huge dank aromas, citrus, resin, sweet, floral, pungent, grapefruit, sweet, caramel, alcohol, hops, mild esters. Really fresh smelling (should be as it is brand new). Flavors are off. Plastic, wet dog, bad malt, medium bitter with lots of tangerine. Soapy and detergent like. Pine. Very soapy, dry, light vegital. Lively bubbles, medium bodied.

22oz bottle labeled as Hop Mania #4 pours up clear amber with copper hues and off white head. The aroma offers up some stunted pine hops, earthy citrus fruit peel and then it rolls into a bit of boozy heat and dark fruity esteriness at the end of the draw. The taste starts somewhat hop neutral and a little malty for a moment and then it picks up muted blunted pine hops. To midway the pine hops move into resiny notes just as orange and lime peel and slivers of sweet malt are noticed. It stays tart with citrus hops as well as pine hops into the after taste. The level of bitterness is pleasing in this one.

Sampled on 3/23/2012. This IPA pours a medium amber color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is citrusy and herbal, caramel and sweet. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Nice dry hopped aroma. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours clear copper / amber with a rocky off-white head. The aroma has caramel malt that’s fairly rich and is balanced by hop notes of pine, grass, tropical fruit and nectarines - nice. Medium resiny body with fairly gentle carbonation. The flavor starts with dry crackery malt, caramel, very piny/woody hops and some fruitiness. The finish has a bunch of grapefruit zest. Nice IPA.

Just happens that I’m in the mood for an IPA. Dumped into glass in a hurry. Medium amber beer with a light tan tiny bubbled of mild thickness. Very familiar IPA aroma of semi sweet caramel, lemon lime, tropical thickness, bright orange, maybe some grapefruit, good citrus and a nice sweetness. The taste is pretty good and down the line with what I like to drink in mass quantity but it’s not all that special. More of the same from the smell in the flavour with a more malty centerpiece, very good citrus with faint spice that gives this an extra added quality, weak weak pine, solid bitterness. I like. Drinkable quickly and easily. I like it but it’s nothing special - just good with all that j want in an IPA. Creamy for an IPA with a long bitter finish and malts and last drop gone.
