3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ComradeK (732) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - AUG 25, 2012
650ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber, with a large off-white head, which does not last all that well but does leave decent lacing. Citrus hops dominate the aroma, with grapefruit and tangelo notes prominent, along with some pine resin and peppery hops notes. An initial touch of white pepper is overcome by bitter grapefruit hops. A hint of pine resin leads into a mid-section with just enough caramel malt to lend it some body. Pine resin and pepper hops in the finish leave a lingering bitterness. This is a nice, satisfyingly bitter IPA.

Bomber. Pours amber with a two finger white head. Big hop aroma with citrus and pine flavors and all good things that IPAs should be. Really well done.

Orange, soft gold pour with a tight white head. Serious hops in the nose; pine cones and citrus. Nicely bitter. Body is full with tastes of earth, wood(pine),and light caramel. Hops take charge again out the back door to a bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a rich gold-orange with a high, large-grained, offwhite head. the nose is herbal, with lime and cucumber overtones. Intense herbal notes on the front of the tongue, followed up with caramel and toffee; there’s a touch of smoke on the close, like burning sage smudge. Very well balanced, with a long finish. I LIKE this beer.

Very nice IPA, great pour and sudsy, hop profile is very nice, above average for sure, nice bitterness and sweetness as well, nicely balanced, good from beginning to end, very pure tasting IPA. All in all above average and something I would recommend.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours clear orange with a large, foamy white head. Nose is sweet, aromatic punchbowl citrus fruits. Almost resembles a lychee martini, just a little less boozy. Some blood orange in there too. Taste is very front up citrus and zest. Loads of lemon coming through mid palate with a sharp, bitter sweet finish of lychee and grapefruit. A resinous finish. Unbalanced but damn it works well. Really enjoyable

From the Shmaltz Brewing Company, this is the He’Brew Hop Manna IPA. Limited release in 22oz bottles, I was fairly excited to try this little guy. The label states that Hop Manna is dry hopped with Centennial Cascade and Citra hops, checking in at 65 IBUs and 6.8% abv.
The Hop Manna pours a great straw-golden color, with quite a bit of fluffy off-white foam. There is a ton of carbonation rising from the bottom of my Unibroue-brand tulip glass. As usual, there’s a long story on the side of the label in tiny print that I don’t dare try to read after I start drinking.
The nose is full of brightly floral hops, bitter at the core, but mostly floral and citrusy in nature. On the palate, this is much more subtle than some of the other IPAs I’ve been trying lately. The hops are definitely present, but not nearly as rough and bitter as others. The alcohol isn’t even noticeable, it’s seamlessly blended in behind the hops. The finish is not super-long lasting, but it does linger for a few minutes.
Soft, smooth, flavorful, and quite drinkable. I like the Hop Manna!

22oz bottle, shared by Jay. Clear amber / orange color. Nice white head leaving good lace. Nice light crisp carbonation, and dry texture. Good bitter taste. Tasty resiny tropical hops, hint of spice. Some grapefruit, good citrusy aftertaste. Very enjoyable, high quality IPA. This would be a go-to IPA if it came in six-packs. $5 is reasonable though, relative to how lofty special-release 22oz prices often get.

Clear and orange-tan with fine rising bubbles, a two finger head that lasted, and good lace.
Aroma is piney, citrus, lemon peel and grapefruit, herbal, and floral. Definitely noticed the dry hopping!
Flavor is really nice, and as complex as the smell. There’s a nice bitterness, balanced but forward, accented with pine, hop resin, floral, citrus, and grassy notes. The malt sweetness balances it out nicely.
Body is full yet drinkable, with ample carbonation and a nice sweet malt/bitter hop finish.
As with most everything from this brewery, I like this beer.
