All of this series of beers is pretty heavy handed, but this one is one of the better ones. Lots of dark fruit, some licorice, and hints of caramel.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from the Folsom Whole Foods. Pours dark brown with a slight beige/tan head. Aroma of dark fruits and whiskey. I know thereís no barrel here, but it smells that way to me. Or maybe a bit cola! Near full bodied. Flavor of figs, prune and raisins. Some treacle. Maybe a touch of chocolate in the finish. A nice dark beer with mild suggestions of heat. Not exactly dry, but certainly not all that sweet.

On tap at Hay merchant. Pours a dark brown ruby hue with small beige head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is raisin caramel and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet chocolate malt with light roast and light bitterness in the finish. A good American strong ale from HeBrew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. This beer was not as complex as I hoped it would be. The aroma is full of chocolate and roasted malt, with not too much else going on. The flavor is more of the same, with some sweetness from the chocolate and some medium to heavily roasted malt. The alcohol also begins to creep in, but it is not as in your face as it is in some of the other Jewbelation beers. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2012 Tallahassee, Fl - Market Square Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown - almost black with a thin mocha colored head. Sweet aroma, pipe tobacco and dates come to mind. Flavor is strong and bold. Bittersweet bakerís chocolate, dates, molasses all meld together with a back end of pipe tobacco then hold it all together. Nice thick mouthfeel. Done up rather well. Enjoyed this while watching the Masters on Easter Sunday.

Aroma is figs, plums, dates and moderate caramel and cookie malt, and pine, herbal hops. Flavor is malt dominant, dark fruity esters, medium hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Full body, medium warmth and carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at the Irish Hanukkah Tasting. Sampled in line with the other ones from the vertical collection box. This one is very similar to 8, molasses, caramel, plum, raisin, but has a more soy and other dark fruits. The alcohol also shines through considerably more, despite being only one percentage higher. More complex than 8, but 8 was better mellowed.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle- Pours very dark ruby red with a thin tan head that reduces to a collar and a couple islands of foam. The aroma is sweet caramel malts, molasses, alcohol, appealing. The taste is caramel malt, boozy, kind of gritty, sugary, not as good as the aroma unfortunately. Body is medium, carbonation is medium. Overall It was okay, but not anything I would want again.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
In short: A sweet dark ale with plenty of molasses, raisins and such. Well made but not my stykle.
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed when a few months of age, re-release as part of the 2011 Vertical Pack
The look: Near black body topped by a medium beige head with medium retention
In long: The beer smells sweet and sticky with molasses, sweet raisins, black cake and such. Taste is more of the same. A whole lot of molasses, burnt caramel, burnt black cake, raisins, prune juice, fresh tobacco, oily nuts, vanilla. Smooth carbonation. In mouth the beer feels thick and juicy, like a can of juice concentrate with carbonation. There are plenty of sweet dark beers with a similar flavor profile as this one, there is obviously a market for those beers, but Iím the target audience for those beers. A well made beer, just not my thing. The 5766 in the name is the year the beer was created according to the Hebrew calendar. Jewish people are different like that. However I donít believe in this jewish conspiracy bullshit, but if Iím wrong and there is a jewish conspiracy Iím sure the master plan is written on very cheap paper.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The pour is just like the other Jewbelations...a dark almost black, brown body with reddish highlights. A thick and foamy beige head that dies down to a thin foamy cap. Some light lacing rings are left on the glass. The nose is roasted with a bit of an earthy nose and big coffee and espresso notes. A hint of hop and some alcohol are dully noted. The middle has some light sweetness with a chewy, full roasted malt. Hint of wood, light grapefruit hop, caramel, toffee and coffee. This one somewhat lacks the overall robustness and smack of resinous hops. Overall, this is just an "okay" brew.
