3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled - first I missed it because of the ash cloud over Europe, but then I found it in London. A brown beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of alcohol as well as sweet and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of soy sauce, malt, roasted malt, hops, and alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
RBSG 2010 - Pours very dark amber and smells of rich malts and dark fruit. The flavor is predominately malt. It’s sweet with good dark fruit notes and some alcohol present, which is hard not to have at 13% abv. It’s a full bodied brew that I enjoyed very much.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours very dark, red hues in the light. Head starts out about a half inch then dies to almost nothing. I hate rating appearance unless it is worth it. Aromas of thick molasses, alcohol, figs, plum.,raisin and caramel. Taste is similar but for me way too sweet. Too much alcohol in the taste too. Lots of raisin and dark fruits. Some caramel and molasses. Long bitter burning finish. Good carbonation level.

22oz bottle from Pristine Liquors in Spring Hill, FL. Pours dark red-brown with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, booze, plums, dark fruit, mild bitterness, and lingering chocolate. Mild fruit and chocolate in the finish. Medium-bodied and a bit chocolatey, but aging nicely.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with a brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma is full of roasted malts with a relatively strong dark fruit note as well a chocolate and a bit of an alcohol note. The flavor has a decent amount of alcohol present, but it is accompanied by chocolate roasted malts and a hint of dark fruits.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
February 19, 2010 tasting with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc & mabel. 22oz bottle courtesy of blankboy. Disclaimer: I find most of the He-brew beers boozy sugar bombs. Poured deep clear ruby with an average diminishing beige head. Smells a lot like a UK barleywine with a huge admixture of fruitiness - moderately boozy - pretty nice, actually. Sweet, fuity and "dark" tasting - almost like a sweet tawny port - lovely, really appealing to my palate. Sticky, thick and sweet mouthfeel, not too boozy in the finish ... mmmmmmmmm! One of the best by them, for me.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Pacific Liquor in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego, purchased about 15 months ago ($6.99). Pours an almost pitch black with one finger of light brown foam. Aroma of dark roasted malts, espresso, anise, toasted coconut, smoke, hints of dark fruit, and some booze at the end. Flavor is quite good with really rich chocolate / fudge standing out; also bourbon, tobacco, smoky leather, caramel, raisin, toasted marshmallow, and hints of sweet coffee. Complex with a light level of sweetness that does not distract. There is some detectable alcohol but generally the 13% is well concealed, rendering this readily drinkable. I’ve had the Eleven and Twelve, but this one is my favorite so far. Very well executed. (255, 458)

Bomber from Market of Choice. Dark brown pour with a moderate beige head and light lacing. Smells of raisins, caramel, molasses, a little booze. Lots of dark fruit in the flavor, along with some chocolate, molasses, a little pine hoppiness and some light heat. A tasty beer, I really enjoyed this one.
