Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, jerc & tupalev - courtesy of blankboy. Deep ruby-brown with a medium tan head. Sweet and malty, with notes of molasses and toffee and green hops. Big, bold flavour, like a well-hopped porter, with a warm and lingering finish. Pretty nice stuff.

A: Pours a nice brown color with a frothy head. Some carbonation and no lacing. The bottle has several ramblings on the label that are pretty funny, and carry out the “11” theme. S: Aromas of nice roasted malt. There are 11 malts and 11 hops used in this bad boy. The roasted chocolate ones stand out front and center. There is a hint of pine in there from the hops, but malt reigns supreme. T: This is where they pull this one together. Tons of flavors here. The complex mixture of malts is ever present with tones of chocolate, coffee, caramel, and toffee. The malt flavor is quite possibly one of the best I have ever tasted. Then comes the hops. There are 11 of them, but they were not added in an aggressive nature. There is an underlying hint of pine and grapefruit, but not enough to take away from the malty goodness. No doubt about it this is a well crafted brew with a perfect marriage of malt and hops. The 11% ABV is hidden nicely, bottom line I LOVED IT! M: I drank this one warm as it had just come in. It was medium bodied with a tad bit of carbonation.

Tap @ The He’Brew Bash at the Blind Tiger NYC. I was fricking wasted by the end so some of these rates might be a bit odd. I noted this had more head than Jewbelation 12. Sweet malt and rum and raisin on the nose. Coffee in the mouth.

Bomber from Holiday Wine Cellar. I enjoyed reading the notes on the bottle, especially the Spinal Tap reference. Pours very dark brown with only thin layer of beige head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts, caramel, dark fruits, light chocolate, and some alcohol. Complex flavor of sweet and slightly burnt malts, caramel, some fruits (cherry, raisin), tobacco, creamy chocolate, light coffee, tingling bourbon. Velvety mouthfeel and warming alcohol. The hops must have mellowed with the age. It’s nicely sweet, reminiscent of a good barley wine.

courtesy of retorp Pours dark brown, off-white head. Aroma is malty, light caramel nose, brown sugar and roast with some hints of hops. Flavor, abv is definitely present though not overpowering, still keeps a nice hoppy bouquet even two years later. Balanced with a nice malty palate, hitns of dark fruits, grapefruit and sweetness.
