3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beer colour. Smells and tastes like hops and malts were added. Nice beer.
Update: ruby red highlights up to the light and a small bubbly cap on a rough pour. Sugar, brown sugar, mild to medium roasty things, sharp sour orange similar to when you leave orange juice in the fridge for about 2 weeks too long, molasses, toffee or something, mild spice and a bunch of other things I smell that I’m sworn to secrecy not to disclose. This is unbelievably easy to drink. Smooth and silky on every savoury sip while giving tons of flavours to create a salivation level similar to one second before a grizzly death on Alien or Aliens. Caramel, licorice, oozingly thick goo, molasses, succulent citrus that attacks in late evening sized lakeside waves, hints of chocolate somewhere, sweetness....simply mouth watering - happens repeatedly. Sticky mouth feel with that feeling like I just ate an entire chapstick - when you do that always go with cherry. The only hint of the alcohol is that I’ve had to go back and fix the 78,000 red squiggly lines in my review. Strong flavourful finish with a hint of heat and endless smoothness... my mouth feels just like petting a beautifully cute and soft kitten.. except with my mouth which is kind of creepy but those kittens never judge me afterwards.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Thick dark brown with no head. Quiet weird aroma. Vegetable paste and soy. Flavour is thick and makes me think it is more what Sam Adams might have intended for Triple Bock. Oatmeal, molasses and finishing soy. You can taste the alcohol but comes off light for 15%. Very thick. You can taste a lot of hops but a lot of malt to chew through and that growing alcohol presence.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours black with a thick tan persistent head. Aroma dark fruits and molasses. Taste sweet with raisins and molasses, chocolate, a bit of vanilla and licorice. There is a little soy sauce, cough syrup and umami creeping in at times which detracts. Kind of an old ale feel at times. Palate thick and a little sticky. Alcohol quite apparent. Finish sweet, a little bitter.
This is a good beer but like you’d expect from a beer with 15 varieties of malts and 15 kinds of hops, is kind of busy and flavors end up competing instead of integrating.

Pours dark with a nice head. Aroma is fruity and malty. Taste is strong and full of intense flavors. Caramel, licorice, raisin, cherry. And just the right amount of each flavor. Very nice beer. Flavor really stays with it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
An interesting brew. A dark brown pour with a thick foamy tan head that dies to nothing. Massive alcohol leggings on the glass, but not lacing. The nose is sweet, hopped up and alcoholic. Notes of grapefruit, toffee, brown sugar and a mild roast. The taste is potent and quite strong with a nice hop and overly sweet. The 15% ABV is well hidden despite the strong taste. The body is full and slickly sweet. overall, a pretty good brew.

22oz bottle 1/8/12 (Binny’s Downers Grove)-42° in Snifter-Pours a dark brown with a one finger tan head. Aroma of sweetnes, caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. Taste of the same with a slight taste of alcohol in the middle. This full bodied brew hides the ABV very well and goes down super easy. This brewery kicks some major butt.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle, split 4 ways, pours a deep dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma of dark fruits (cherry, dates, figs), toffee, caramel malt, some roasted notes and a bit of floral. Flavour of dates, figs, cherry and other dark fruits, roasted caramel malts, grape juice, brandy, but little booze coming through surprisingly - how is this 15%? Finishes with dried fruits (figs, dates) with almost indiscernible alcohol. Very complex, but quite sweet. Nice slow sipper.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle at the CDA Casino, drank in the hotel room while waiting for my wife to get out of her spa treatment. Pours black with brown edges and ruby red tints when held up to the light; has a centimeter-thick beige head that collapses fairly quick. Aroma is raisiny, caramelly, alcohol. Taste is powerful strong, malty sweet and meaty with only a hint of bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is oily, carbonation is medium-low. Pretty good, definitely a sipper.
