COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Jewish tradition, 15 marks major commemorations: Passover (the Exodus), Sukkot (40 years of wandering), and Tu Bishvat (the New Year for Mother Nature) all start on the 15th day of the Hebrew month. 15 suggests a certain wisdom from experience: “Old is always 15 years from now.” – Bill Cosby. “We are always more anxious to be distinguished for one talent we do not possess than 15 we do.” – Mark Twain. After Andy Warhol, does 15 forever sound profound or frivolous? “In the future, everyone will be world famous for 15 minutes.” “Fame is the thirst of youth.” – Lord Byron. “The fact that my 15 minutes of fame has been extended is somewhat surprising to me and completely baffling to my wife.” – Barack Obama. For Matt EP: Hall of Famer Bart Starr rocked #15 as MVP in the Packers’ first two Super Bowl victories. “South Park” evolved from “Jesus vs. Santa” and is now entering its 15th season. “We’re rehabbed and ready for our 15 minutes of shame.” – Marilyn Manson. Lyrics from Barry Manilow’s 2011 album, 15 Minutes, released on QVC Network: “Make me a deal, I’ll sell my guts for glory.” “Fame and power are the objects of all men. Even their partial fruition is gained by very few, and that at the expense of social pleasure, health, conscience, life.” – Benjamin Disraeli. After 1,972,350 sets of 15 minutes of Shmaltz Brewing, I’ll hoist my Jewbelation Quinceañera and sing 15 rounds of ¡Viva la Evolución de He’brew! L’Chaim! Jeremy Cowan, proprietor

HonkeyBra (3420) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2011
22 oz. bottle. Dark near black pour with a small off white head. I can’t think of anything more untenable than He’Brew’s abv matching the anniversary year series. What are they going to do in their 20th anniversary? Their 30th? I digress. Aroma is bold, vinuous, lots of grapes and prunes. Pregnant like a woman spilling over her bra. Flavor is extremely sweet. Mollasses, honey, prune juice, alcohol. Cheap milk chocolate, pure sugar, that weird fake chocolate milk stuff at the grocery store. So sticky sweet I had to check to make sure this beer wasn’t from The Bruery. Big, thick mouthfeel. Way too sweet. I needed something to cut the sweetness. My cat knocked over the bottle and I wasn’t even mad.

ksurkin (1021) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - DEC 29, 2011
22oz bottle from grape & gourmet. pours a syrupy, dark mahogany capped by a thin, creamy beige head that leaves tight rings of oily lace. aroma is great with rich, sticky, brown sugar, maple syrup, candied malts, and butterscotch pudding backed by sweet raisins, figs, and subtle notes of boozy brandy. flavor is delicious, albeit a bit sweet, with notes of fresh baked fruitcake, sweet raisins, fig newtons, and rich toffee backed by light roast, candied walnuts, cinnamon, and a hint of dark chocolate. palate is full bodied, sticky on the palate, and lightly carbonated with a touch of boozy warmth layered with the sweet, mildly roasted finish. overall, a damn nice american strong.

On tap at Urge. Black with a creamy light brown head. Faint chocolate caramel and alcohol aroma. Floral fruity candy chocolate sugar and alcohol taste with a thick syrupy palate.

reebtogi (4237) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 27, 2011
650ml bottle poured reddish black into glass with 3 fingers of light tan head that left some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark roasted malts and hops with some dark fruits. Taste is a big malty sweetness balanced with a bold hoppy bitterness. Heavy in body and moderate carbonation. Has a great complexity about it and leaves a pleasing feeling on the palate. The best Jewbelation to date.

22 oz bottle from Randall’s. Pours a deep, dark, cloudy chestnut brown with a minimal tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of booze, figs, brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, toffee, and faint roast. Flavor of lots of sweet caramel and chocolate malts, toffee, toasted brown sugar, dark fruits, and booze. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a sweet, boozy mouthfeel. Good. This brewery has stepped up its game.

Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a dark reddish color with a medium creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus, berries, toffee, brown sugar and bitter hops. The taste is toffee malts, berries, bitter hops, booze, brown sugar and maple. Full bodied.

bottle. claims 10.9%. near black with a small tan head. there’s a little of everything in this, but the nose is mostly chocolate and dark malts, molasses with raisin and other sweet dark fruits. whoa....flavor is very sweet. lots of molasses, raisin, caramel, cocoa, licorice. tastes like a liquified medjool date. full body and goes down easy if you can handle the sweetness. huge stuff! i like sweet beer, but this is borderline too much. maybe it has something to do with the 10% version?

SDalkoholic (2156) - Linda Vista, California, USA - DEC 24, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2011 Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Poured a dark dense black liquid that crated a thick nitro like layer of foam and almost looked similar to a pint full of Guinness Draught. In the aroma, my nose picks up dark chocolate and fruit with an addition of mild roast malts that aren’t as apparent as in other He’Brew anniversary recipes. The flavor is intensely sweet and sugary and delivers a taste of raw cane sugar and brown sugar while a smooth backbone of dark roasted malts carries the drink through. This is unbelievably tame yet well rounded out for packing a high 15% ABV because the alcohol is completely masked and will sneak up on you.

Fruity nose, with malty notes. Appearance is beautiful black with a tan head. Palate is sweet and sugary, massive amounts of chocolate malt. Needs a bit more hops. Alcohol well hidden.

Sweet roasted, molasses, aroma and taste. Mouth-filling body. ABV well hidden. No hop bitterness or aroma IMO. A fine ale, but 15% ABV is too much for me!!!
