COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Jewish tradition, 15 marks major commemorations: Passover (the Exodus), Sukkot (40 years of wandering), and Tu Bishvat (the New Year for Mother Nature) all start on the 15th day of the Hebrew month. 15 suggests a certain wisdom from experience: “Old is always 15 years from now.” – Bill Cosby. “We are always more anxious to be distinguished for one talent we do not possess than 15 we do.” – Mark Twain. After Andy Warhol, does 15 forever sound profound or frivolous? “In the future, everyone will be world famous for 15 minutes.” “Fame is the thirst of youth.” – Lord Byron. “The fact that my 15 minutes of fame has been extended is somewhat surprising to me and completely baffling to my wife.” – Barack Obama. For Matt EP: Hall of Famer Bart Starr rocked #15 as MVP in the Packers’ first two Super Bowl victories. “South Park” evolved from “Jesus vs. Santa” and is now entering its 15th season. “We’re rehabbed and ready for our 15 minutes of shame.” – Marilyn Manson. Lyrics from Barry Manilow’s 2011 album, 15 Minutes, released on QVC Network: “Make me a deal, I’ll sell my guts for glory.” “Fame and power are the objects of all men. Even their partial fruition is gained by very few, and that at the expense of social pleasure, health, conscience, life.” – Benjamin Disraeli. After 1,972,350 sets of 15 minutes of Shmaltz Brewing, I’ll hoist my Jewbelation Quinceañera and sing 15 rounds of ¡Viva la Evolución de He’brew! L’Chaim! Jeremy Cowan, proprietor

Strykzone (3866) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - FEB 8, 2012
Sampled at an esbls tadting. Dark cola colored with a tan head. The nose is fruity with rich malt. Like many barley wines. This tastes like one, too. Lots of fruit and raisin is big. Tons of malt. Chocolate. This is big and alcohol is barely tasted. This has so much flavor but is too big for me.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a brown head. Rich malt and light chocolate aroma. Toffee and rich malt flavor with light chocolate and light fruitiness. Medium bodied. Toffee and rich malt lingers with light dark fruit and light chooclate.

PorterPounder (4634) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 9, 2011
Tallahassee, Fl - Fermentation Market - 22 oz bomber. Pours a dark brown leading to black, quick bubbly khaki colored head that fades quickly. Aroma has some hints of raw steak, some molasses, sweet dates. Flavor is heavy and syrupy. Pick up some chocolate, brandy, plenty of booziness, some licorice notes in the back end. Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Will they go to Sweet 16? 15% ABV hidden extremely well!

Bottle. Dark brown with a tall, dense, foamy tan head. Aroma is sweet with strong caramel, dark fruit, brown sugar, malted milk chocolate balls (Whoppers), vanilla and cake. Taste is big caramel, soft alcohol, sweet malt, dark fruit, vanilla, more notes of Whoppers, chocolate cake, and light molasses. Body is medium-full with a soft, creamy carbonation and some syrupyness. Sugary stickiness in there as well as mild alcohol warmth. Finishes with more ripened dark fruits, chewy caramel, chocolate, cake notes, vanilla, molasses, booze, and brown sugar.

Papsoe (25129) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 25, 2013
Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours an almost clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a tiny - almost absent - off-white head. Rich aroma of thick, sweet overripe fruit. Very solid body, pours thick and syrupy with hardly any carbonation. Nuts and thick caramel with a warming alcohol finish. Not too bad really - basically let’s just call it a Barley Wine. 250313

Sledutah (3260) - Utah, USA - SEP 16, 2012
22oz bottle thanks to Phil
Appearance: Pours dark brown, black in glass, with a medium sized beige head and good lacing
Aroma: Dark fruit, roasted malt, sweet caramel and chocolate
Taste: Roasted malts, sweet caramel, dark fruit, some alcohols and some bitterness in the finish
This is a nice sipper beer, let it warm up. It is pretty sweet, but it balances out the alcohol.

sebletitje (5536) - Enghien, BELGIUM - APR 15, 2012

Dark pour with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, fruity. Taste is dark fruit, a little sweet. The flavor clings to your mouth. The alcohol is well hidden until you feel it later. Kind of creamy. Hop flavor is hidden.

12 oz. bottle- Pours dark brown to black with little transparency and a thin mocha colored head. Aroma is strong candy like caramel malts, very little alcohol which is surprising. The taste is strong caramel and boozy, it tastes like a piece of caramel candy infused with vodka, but it is very appealing, I like it. The body is big, syrupy mouthfeel, carbonation is medium. Overall not a beer I would want all the time, but this is a tasty dessert after dinner beer, a sipper through and through.
