COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
How could we hope to top last year’s Jewbelation Sweet 16 with its cupcakes, unicorns, & Satan’s Ferrari birthday cake? massive challenge. So for Year 17, we threw in a whole new dimension to our shtick – we built our very own brewery! After 17 years of contract brewing, our first Shmaltz Clifton Park batch emerged 17 months after the first draft of the business plan. Coincidence? Renaissance means “Re-birth” in French & Italian. In Buddhism, the concept does not truly translate as “reincarnation” but instead as “becoming,” or a “stream of consciousness.” 11 syllables structure a haiku. Shakespeare penned 17 comedies. In The Simpsons episode “Duffness” Homer sings “When I was 17″ about buying his first beer with a fake I.D. “I drank some very good beer. I stayed up listening to Queen, When I was 17.” In The Office, Dwight recites Rule 17 that all Schrute boys must learn: “Don’t turn your back on bears, men you have wronged, or the dominant turkey during mating season.” Knowledge and growth come in many forms. It is taught that Nirvana is only attained when the soul transcends cycles of rebirth. Looks like Shmaftz just isn’t there yet. So with 17 malts, 17 hops, and 17% abv,JEWBEL4TIONREBORNserves as another mark of our death as a contract brewer and proof of our conversion to a new life as brewery owner…… L’Chaim!!!

Draft. Blackish beer with a dark tan head. Malt and dried fruit aroma. Thick malt and caramel flavor with plum, dried fruit, and alcohol. Fuller bodied. Malt and caramel linger with dark fruit and alcohol.

Bottle share with Ron. Thanks Ron! Very dark, slightly red, minimum head and lacing. Interesting complex, nice nose. Spicy, malty, grapes, brown shugga. Palate very sweet in the intro. Mellowed/balanced by booze, carbonation, slight hops. Just barely not too sweet. Lots of body, fruity, thick, decent.

Bottle. Almost black with a brown head. Aroma is mostly roasted malts, dark chocolate and alcohol. Flavor is more complex with a variety of malt and hop subtleties. Full bodied(malty) with a slightly boozy finish. Not as boozy as you would think for 17%. I really enjoyed this one.

vicious with nut and fresh malt. a bitter finish with big mellow taste of date and raisin. full mouthfeel to this deep caramel colored brew. little alcohol for the profile except for the expected dryness.

Hugely boozy in the nose. Big flavors of chocate and coffee. Quite tasty - masks the 17% incredibly well

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown / amber with a small tan head. Aroma brings out burnt roasted malt, caramelized sugar, and who knows what else - smells very confused and uncoordinated. Flavour... not sure how to describe this - this is all over the place - notes of roasted malt, caramelized sugar, scorched hops, and even some feet / BO notes. This is very strange. Totally a gimmick beer at this stage in the anniversary series. It’s drinkable, and amazingly well-concealing of the ABV. Good stuff, but only drinkable in small quantities.

Bottle from the holiday mix pack. This is the strongest beer I’ve drunk to date. Pours clear brown, beige head. Nose is toffee/molasses, some roast, slight alcohol, nondescript hops. Flavour is same, mainly toffee/treacle, lots of nuts, the booziness isn’t too bad really, I’ve had beers with a third the abv with more alcohol presence than this. Could be that you’re just expecting it here. Sticky. Yeah a nice sipper.

Bottle at craft ale house. Pours deep red and brown with minimal head. The aroma is full of cherry and strawberry notes. The taste is big cherry and big booze.
