4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A 650 ml bottle from Legacy Liquor in Vancouver. An almost black, slightly translucent beer with beige head and heady dried fruit notes on the nose. Dried fruit and chocolate notes assault the palate. Oh yeah, this is good! Big rich malts here, but a prominent hop note evident as well. Body and mouth feel is thick and oily, and that in a good way. Big winner here!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Uhhhh... pours black with a massive and long lasting tan head. Atypical for a17% beer, kinda fishy. Smell and taste are boozy for sure, dark fruits. Dk if its 17% though, had half a bottle after a couple of other beers and didn’t feel much.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown with very little tan colored head. The aroma is difficult to describe since there is so much going on here. There is a lot of sweetness, malt, raisin and other dark fruits, molasses, chocolate, toffee, even a little smokiness and lots of booze. Taste is very sweet and basically a combination of the various aromas. Somewhat resembling a barleywine but even sweeter and more dark fruitiness. The hops attempt to show in the finish but are overpowered by malt. Full bodied with a somewhat dry finish and a noticeable warming effect. This is one hell of a unique beer but the cloying sweetness, and extremely high abv, make drinking this not very enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Pours a dark murky brown color with a small white head. A big hot boozy nose, raisin and toffee. Super sweet, hot, burnt caramel, berries, big rich malts. Very drinkable despite an insane abv. Nice brew

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is one strong brew. I found it to be a little to heavy with booze. Made for sipping by a fire. On tap at Victory Lane in Berlin NJ.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle. Great idea to offer some of these bigger, crazier brews in smaller formats. Deep tarry brown with some edgy foam. Nose is chocolate, port, citrus peel, apricot and raisin. Dense with an alcohol bite. Not as heavy or cloying as one would expect. Taste is molasses, pine, chocolate liqueur, orange marmalade and a touch of espresso.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
651 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, well retained, beige head, over a black (SRM 40) body.....nose is plum, fig raisin, molasses, light hops.....taste is heavy molasses, vinous tones, layers of plum, fig date, raisin, sweet throughout, finishing with a mild spice hop bitterness....mouth feel thick, chewy, sticky, alcohol heat present, carbonation low. This is thick, heavy, sweet, very alcoholic and highly complex. It is almost like drinking carbonated Port Wine flavored with additional molasses. It is a bit too much. BJCP 7/3/13/3/6

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap, pours a deep black, almost no head and thin lacing. Huge alcohol, red wine, dark sugar nose. Warm, alcohol rich attack, sweet rich finish. This is a big beer. Duh.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Black w/ tan head. Very strong malt aroma where the malty sweetness subdues the alcohol. Some bitterness finishes the aroma. For 17% it comes off as 6. That alone is enough for a 4+ rating and the rest is either history or irrelevant.
