On tap at Churchkey, pours a translucent purpelish with some creamy off white head. Nose of raisin, sugar, some cake icing, burnt sugar. Flavor of raisins, figs, sweet, cheap rum, malt, chocolate, rum cake. Full, sticky finish. Heavy handed.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap at CK thanks to nmann08. 16% holy monkey. Pours a clear, deep sepia, moving to near black. Medium, tan head. Nose is sweet white alcohol, vinous, fumey vodka. Taste is salty, buoyant, sugar, tootsie roll, pistachio. Palate...it’s all booze. I have a headache. Decent for 2oz sample. Would kill a person in 651mL format.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle. Dark brown with coating tan foam. Nose is raisin, toffee, plywood, wild grapes and alcohol. Almost full body with a tingle. Not as sticky as i expected. Taste is vodka, grass, chocolate and bitter citrus. I was hoping for deep layers of flavor but this came off quite muddled.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 18/20
Vanilla, malt sweet, dark fruit, chocolate roastiness on nose. Oh and booze too. Much the same in flavor, with a long medium chocolate bitter finish and boozy burn. Medium heavy on the mouth feel. Awesome beer though, definitely going to pick up a few more bottles to let rest a few years.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle @ home, picked up at Argonaut in Denver. Pours a deep black appearance with a decent, very dark brown head. Anise, dark chocolate, sickly sweet malty, incredibly boozy aroma. Incredibly cloying, syrupy black licorice, dark chocolate, very woody, fig/dark fruity, grape drank, overly boozy flavor. Hard to take more than a sip at a time. There seems to be a lot of flavor but it’s boozy as hell and burns like a mofo on the finish. Is it a drain pour? Nah, I wanna get loaded tonight.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Next in our celebration of Hanukkah is this swill. Aroma is butane, rubbing alcohol, asphalt. Im leaving room in the Aroma category by giving this a 2 because maybe somewhere out there I will encounter a beer that smells worse then this.. maybe. Pours a nice black pour with light beige head and looks pretty appetizing. The taste is very bad with incredibally cloying sweetness and tons of alcohol. This tastes almost unsafe to drink like im trying to poison myself on chemicals. Drain pour bad terrible gross abortion.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The aroma is very strong with alcohol, dark fruit, caramel, toffee, hops, and chocolate. The appearance is dark brown with a small tan head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thick. Overall a very good beer like the others in the series

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
The pour is dark, nearly black with a fairly small, dark tan, fizzy, pillowy head which is somewhat diminishing and leaves scattered lace rings. The nose is fairly obscure for the strength; semi-sweet chocolate, molasses, dried fruit (date, fig, currant), light coffee, burnt caramels, and earthy roast and toast. The flavor is better with more of the fruit notes throughout, slightly more sweet espresso and earthy roast, still very chocolatey (almost like a dark chocolate shake), molasses, and burnt caramels. The palate is very full, coating, chewy, almost lively, maybe even a bit oily. The finish finally has some warmth, the chocolate turning fudgey, still some currant lingering, and an earthy bitterness left on my tongue. Very drinkable beer at the ABV and much better the longer I let it sit out. A little stout ish but more like Old Viscosity or Struisse's Panneport. I'm not sure the 16 malts and hops are necessary but the end result is nice. I'm surprised by the less than mediocre ratings I've seen, but I thought it was good.

1.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Bottle from Chaim Witz.
Pours a perfect black with a thick, frothy head of beige. The nose surrounds the room: thick chocolate, lightly roasted nuts, caramel glaze, matzoh, crispy autumn leaves. Flavor is upfront bourbony chocolate, roasted nuts, toasted matzoh, grapefruit soaked in caramel, and a butt-ton of chutzpah. Woah. This is one seriously aggressive beer with tons of stuff goin’ on. Thick on the tongue. Oy vey. This one makes my schmekel curl.
