KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - DEC 17, 2012
Bottle from Chaim Witz.
Pours a perfect black with a thick, frothy head of beige. The nose surrounds the room: thick chocolate, lightly roasted nuts, caramel glaze, matzoh, crispy autumn leaves. Flavor is upfront bourbony chocolate, roasted nuts, toasted matzoh, grapefruit soaked in caramel, and a butt-ton of chutzpah. Woah. This is one seriously aggressive beer with tons of stuff goin’ on. Thick on the tongue. Oy vey. This one makes my schmekel curl.

marcus (7323) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Bottle from Whole Foods, Sacramento. Pours dark brown with a modest tan head and a funky fruit and treacle aroma. There is a fruity dark molasses flavor with a very warm alcohol trail. Creamy and tasty, but beware the heat.

Drake (9999) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Draft at Beer Run. Pours a dark brown color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Big malty aroma with notes of chocolate, raisins, caramel and booze. The taste is chocolate, toffee, booze, a decent amount of smoke and a bitter hop finish. Full bodied and fairly hot. Nice, but these anniversary beers are getting kinda boring. What’s next, 17 MALTS! OHMIGOD!

AirForceHops (4228) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Draft @ Meadhall, Cambridge, MA. Anniversary glass shows a deep brown with ruby highlights when held to the light. Nose is so sweet, it’s kind of offensive. Rich malts, sugar, alcohol and dark fruit. Flavors of caramel, chocolate malts, dark fruits, citrus hops for bitterness. The finish is a more dark fruits, residual sugar, brown sugar, molasses, and a large amount of booze. Full bodied with average amount of carbonation. A sweet, malt bomb with ABV being overwhelming. I bet if you grabbed a bottle and sat on it for 4 years it would be a drinkable brew. Glad I got a short pour of this.

XaenDovet (1204) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 15, 2012
Bottle. Pours deep brown. Aroma of chocolate, wood, sweet citrus. Taste is much the same, with abundant alcohol and faint hop bitterness. Just way too much alcohol taste apparent in this and not balanced enough.

Tap. Pours deep, dark brown with thin, fizzy beige head; short retention AMD spare lacing. Aroma is plums, figs, caramel malt, floral hops, caramel and cookie malt, and some pine. Flavor is sweet malt forward with booze, dark fruit estes, and light hops; dry, fruity finish. Medium body and carbonation.

alexanderj (3402) - Branson, Missouri, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Bottle; poured a dark brown/black with a medium, light brown head. Aroma of dark fruit, cocoa, caramel, very sweet, with a noticeable alcohol presence. Pretty thick and syrupy on the palate. Bursting with alcohol. Roasty and dark fruit, with maybe some licorice notes, and than an earthy finish. Tough to get through the alcohol at first. A bit too boozy and messy.
