3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma is malts, coffee, cotton candy and licorice. Tastes of rich malt; also notes of plum, coffee and cocoa powder. Palate is very oily and slick. A nice strong beverage. Great for sipping and sharing. I thought this tasted and looked like an imperial stout but a great beer either way. Mazeltov!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Strong aroma is malty, woody, a little syrupy. Pours a deep coffee brown with a fairly thick, if not too persistent tan head. Flavor has molasses, roast malt and woody hops notes with more than a hint of miso - and an alcohol bite like an angry pit bull. It is on the sweet side, but not grossly sweet. Texture has very firm, oily, syrupy body, though fizz level leaves a bit to be desired. Whoa, it’s already hit me like a speeding MARTA bus! Finish is lip-smacking, woody, malty, syrupy. A perfect beer to drink on the first day of Hanukkah, even if you’re not Jewish. Well, I have some good friends who are Jewish, and that’s no lie.

Bottle. Prune, barley malt, and alcohol aroma. Black with moderate head. Sweet prune followed by strong herbal bitterness and intense alcohol finish. Very boozy.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Big boozy prune and molasses aroma. Black with a small brown head. Prune, anise, molasses, and very hot booze flavor. Burnt coffee in the finish. Full body with a pretty intense alcohol burn. Alcohol was overwhelmingly harsh, and this one would definitely benefit from some aging.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Big chocolate cacao nose. And lots of malt aroma. Viscous thickness, which is to be expected given all the malts. Huge chocolate flavor, with some mid palate alcohol, and then bitter chocolate and coffee to finish. I was pleasantly surprised by this beer, and will definitely grab a bottle to store for a couple years.

22 oz. Yep - definitely 16% based on how I feel after not sharing the bottle. Smell is dark fruits, molasses, licorice, booze, chocolate. Taste is sweet as one would expect with such a high ABV but not so cloying. It also contains rich ripened fruits, slight tobacco, sherry, chocolate, molasses. Thick mouthfeel with a boozy slushiness. Quite nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into a large tulip glass from the bottl. I highly suggest using a large tulip glass to avoid concentrated alcohol nose. Smells more like a Russian Imperial Stout. Wonderful tasting great beer

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Pours dark with a little tan head. Aroma is sweet malts and some hops. Flavor is sweet brown sugar, malts and some fruit like plums. Its good but finishes hard with a burning alcohol sensation. Nice on a cold night, I will probably pick up another bottle to age since this is still pretty hot.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours very dark, more black than brown, which is the first noticeable different from last year. Nice little tan head. Aroma is stone fruit and a bit of chocolate. Taste is very roasty and does a pretty all right job of balancing the huge sweetness. Not a perfect balance but certainly not an unmitigated mess. Incredibly warming alcohol burn. Very nice on a cold december night!
