I had this at Global Brew. Pours dark brown with tan head. Taste boozy/strong, dark fruit, sweet. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Woah. Total malt bomb with some nice hop balance. Large flavors of caramel, toffee, burnt sugar, vanilla, and roasted barley. Quite good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A- pours an opaque heavy midnight with cola brown edges and a thin, dark tan head that does not linger. Weak lacing. S- dog food grains, raisins, heavily roasted malts, coffee, earth, dark chocolate, stinging alcohol. Some mince meat and salty smoke. Faintest presence of hop notes. M- medium to heavy oily and viscous body with a sweet medium to heavy palate. Good carbonation. T- chocolate, molasses, dried fruits, fig, toffee and coffee notes are up front. Vanilla, earth, smoke, astringent, zinc in the middle. Ending is efficient with more chocolate, sugar cookies, caramel and some hops.

Bottle - I feel like the alcohol got away from them on this one. It’s one thing to be 16%, but it’s another to taste that way. Meh.

He’brew Jewbilation Sweet 16 has pretty much no head, but there is a slight bit of cream colored foam at the top. The appearance is very dark brown, with a few visible bubbles shooting up. The aroma is very strong- alcohol, caramel, prunes, dark cherries, and overall dark malt. Flavor is of all those elements, and one picks up a dark bread crust, dark brown sugar, and even some bitterness to balance the rich sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium and chewy, with some alcohol burn and carbonation prickle. He’brew Sweet 16 finishes semi-dry, sweet, rich, and tasty. But, drinkability is low and poor. Overall, this is most excellent, but one might find it too intense to enjoy. RJT

Single from the LCBO. Pours a dark brown colour with a little ruby highlights. Nice light brown coloured head, foamy, decent retention, but low lacing. Loads of dark fruits (raisins, plums, prunes) with notes of chocolate, nuts and light alcohol. This last one is well-hidden though in the mouthfeel. Again, lots of dark fruits in the taste with some molasses and hints of burnt malt, caramel and licorice. Lots going here, so if you like dark fruits, you will really like this one.

This poured a murky brown with a small beige Jess. Aroma was toffee, caramel, and booze. Flavor was similar, way too sweet and boost to be enjoyable.

Pours dark as night with a half finger head of a mocha colored head that dissipates slowly and leaves a thin ring of lacing. Smells of cocoa, roasted malts, lots of dark fruit like raisin and plum, molasses, and brown sugar. Taste starts with lots of roasted milk chocolate and sweetness. Getting a dark fruit presence as well. The middle brings more roastiness, as well as molasses and toffee and more dark fruit characteristics. Getting a spiciness from the hops. Already getting the booze. The finish is milk chocolate, tiny hint of vanilla, dark fruits, grapes, and roasted malts combine with tons of sweet molasses, toffee, and brown sugar. Definitely get an astringent hop bitterness with an earthy, grassy flavor to go along with the sweet chocolate and dark fruits. A vinous quality to it. Also dry on the finish. Really boozy with a big warming sensation as it goes down. Full body with a creamy and sticky mouthfeel. Not as much of a mess as I thought it would be. This beer is not a lost cause. Just a huge, intense beer that would really benefit from some age. Could be a really nice beer 2 years down the road.
