Pours dark brown with a small off white head. Big boozy, malty nose with notes of cognac and toffee. Big malty body, chocolate cake, citrus and toffee. Really nice dessert beer, very tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours pitch black with minimal tan head. Aroma is dark fruit and molasses. Very sweet treacle flavor with silky warming mouthfeel. Very nice, but take your time. Had a bomber of this during the Superbowl, and I don’t really remember much of the game.

probstblueribbon (2919) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 31, 2013
Bomber shared with friends. Very deep mahogany with a reddish mocha head. Intense molasses and lots of booze, resinous hops, licorice, black chocolate, boiled down dark dried fruits, huge. Full body, thickest beer ever, medium effervescence. Super inky molasses, quite fruity, very boozy, licorice, dark chocolate, cherries, huge and intense and so dark; very sweet with big bitterness, tons of booze and a super long, very inky, molasses, fruit finish. A little too much.

DialSquare (2663) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Bomber from Market Square liquors. Near black pour with an inch tan head and light sheets of lacing. Aroma is dark fruit, molasses, caramel, toasted malts, citrus - very nice. Tastes are chocolaty and nutty with a little smoke. Slight medicinal alcohol in the long cocoa and herbal bitter finish.

Bottle picked up at the LCBO. Pours an absolute black, with a small dark tan head. Lanes of lacing. Nose is sweet, boozy, carmalized malts, vanilla. Tastes bitter and malt heavy. Kind of a booze bomb.

neuromatt (1155) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 30, 2013
22 oz bottle from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours deep chestnut with a moderate tan head that remains and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has big notes of molasses and roasted malts, chocolate and coffee, along with subtle nuts and oak. The flavour is moderately sweet with roasted malts, chocolate, nuts and a touch of coffee. The finish is long and medium roasty with nuts and chocolate. On the palate it is full in body with a syrupy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a great toasty strong ale that hides its significant alcohol behind big roasty, nutty notes. A very nice ale, and one that begs for aging. 2013-03-30

Pours a translucent brown from the bottle with thin ring of tan lacy head. Aroma is overwhelmingly complex, can’t really pull anything out but booze and sweetness. Taste is molasses, toffee, sweet caramel, not really boozy until the burn on the way down. A little crazy, could be nice to sit on for a while.

Pour is stout brown with a tan head. Smells of molasses and sweet caramel. taste is molasses caramel slight chocolate with a destruction of post flavour involving hops and malts. Its pretty good just so much haha. But definitely worth the investment.

Out the bottle it’s seriously dark chocolate brown, nearly black, with some ruby tone and gradually settling sticky brown foam. Very thick and oily. Aromas of booze, heavy caramel and chocolate, pine and smoke. Wow supersweet, bittersweet, roasty caramel chocolate, espresso sweet. The carbonation is gentle but persistent. I’ve had heavier brews with less alcohol, but this is still midnight in a bottle. It’s full flavored and fully coats tongue, mouth, and throat. It tastes like fine espresso with a kick of caramelly burnt sugar. Alcohol numbs tongue and senses. What a killer celebration beer! It’s huge, bold, potent!

Pouring at the Saturday sessions of Extreme Beerfest. Pours a big brown to black with a medium to large sized tanned beige head. Huge roast, cocoa, molasses and maple. Wood and brown sugar. Long roast, chewy chocolate, cocoa. Big wood and vanilla, long warm boozy fiish with more chocolate.
