Flavor is woodsy, with notes of rye, as well. Rather earthy and smokey, too. skoisirius (587), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2008 Nicely done little brown ale...another flagship that provides cash for bigger and better things. Good and light nutty roast hints with a well done malt aspect. And that’s that. McGarnigle (320), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Opaque, probably as mush due to haziness as blackness. Some hoppy aromas seems unexpected for a Brown Ale (Cascade?). Slight hops on the tongue as well. Tastes like their APA but darker, with some roasty malts. Not sure if it melds together. Light-ish bod. CheersBabe (62), USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 9, 2008 Tastes and smells like a typical brown ale, not special. An ok beer, little sweet, little malty, little hopy. Flavor is full at first but drops off at the end. Not a bad beer. Hawksfan17 (718), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Pours a very dark brown, almost as dark as a stout, with a small amount of bubbly tanish head that quickly dissapates. Aroma is sweet caramel malts and slight citric hops which makes for a nice combo. Flavor is slightly roasted malt flavor and slight citric hops. Light mouthfeel. Overall, pretty good. blankboy (3264), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
