2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from the holiday pack. Brown, not much head. Nose is coffee, caramel, nut. Flavour is same, not much hop character. Something I’d expect from a local no-name place... I like my brown sessionables but this is characterless.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Dark rusty color with a foamy tan head. Sweet toffee malt aroma with some hints of ripe fruit. Flavor is rather dull with some nutty sweetness. Dry texture and well carbonated. Drinkable but not a standout.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Review is from notes. Consumed 12/14/13.
Into a pint glass.
The appearance is a dark brown colored body with a half finger white foamy head that dies in about a minute, lacing is clingy and in rings coating the glass nicely. The smell has some molasses, nutty malts, dark fruits all coming through in a fruity and somewhat roasty chocolate-like way. The taste is mainly sweet through the dark fruits, molasses, nuts and chocolate, fruity yet chocolatey aftertaste, dry nutty and fruity finish. On the palate is about a light to medium, somewhat sessionable. Carbonation is very smooth for an American Brown Ale, really just plain smooth all around in the mouth and on the tongue. Overall, this is not a bad American Brown Ale, would I have this again? Actually unsure if I would have this again, it kinda reminded me of Right Brain’s brown ale (Igor Takes A Digger) the way the dark fruits come through.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Malty aroma - very fruity (cherry, plum, raisins, dates), light cocoa, straw and Red Man. Longneck, lousy label. Clear, dark ruby brown beer. Filmy tan head. Tastes of dilute cocoa and dates, moderate bittering, mild coffee/roast. Buffered/chalky mouthfeel though there’s some astringency in there. Drinkable, but didn’t have clockwork complexity. ABC, Betton.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A deep red pour with lacing one finger tan head. Aroma is very pleasing with notes of caramel, bread, and slight hop bitterness. Flavor is moderately sweet with a dry bitter average lasting finish. Overall a pretty great brown ale.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The fourth wiseman got left at the cantina because the other three didn’t think sweet baby jesus in a manger should know just yet that he was the messiah. Fast forward 2000 years and this beer was then given to Stevie Wonder, who after his first initial sip, could see again for 3.3 seconds, hence the rating.

Dark brown, almost black colored pour. Big light tan head. Tons of lacing. Malty, nutty aroma. Sweet malty flavor with some bread and nuts mixed in. Creamy finish with just the slightest bitter note. Pretty good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle from ABC on Apalachee. Deep almost black pour with a thin tan head that leaves a slight ring. Aroma is toasted malts, nutty, caramel. Tastes are the same with a yeasty twang to it - little metallic. I think that actually kept it from being too sugary for me - typical for browns and me. Decent.
