3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a translucent but deep reddish brown. Tight and lasting off white head, nice lacing. Aroma is of cola, toasted malt, cookies. Light bodied. Flavors are toasted malt, dough, and some distant dark fruits. Slightly bitter finish, with more toasty flavors. Packs a lot of flavor for the light body.

This pours a dark brown color with a light beige head. The scent is rather mild with hazelnuts. The taste is bold and nutty with a great blend of robust malts, caramel malts, and nuts. The texture is smooth and is an overall pretty good beer.

Bottle @ home. Colore marrone scuro, solo alcuni riflessi rubino. Schiuma color beige scuro.

Aroma: Cocoa powder rules the malt scene, and is met with a very light dash of spicy/floral hops. Cocoa tends toward chocolate fudge as it warms. Appearance: Nearly opaque dark brown with a foamy tan head that settles into a creamy tan ring. Flavor: Mostly cocoa up front, but with undercurrents of lightly spicy hops; really surprised by the depth of the malts for a 5.5 beer- cocoa into dark bread. There’s a little citrus/floral kick towards the finish, concluding with a slightly bitter dryness. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, flat carbonation, slightly bitter finish. Overall: In my opinion, a severely underappreciated example of the style.

Dark chestnut brown with airy but firm head. Thin consistency, but pretty solid nutty and bittered flavors here. This is a good brown ale.

Nice big chewy brown ale. Some chocolate and roasted malt really come through with the hop spice balanced. Doesn’t really fit into any style, it’s special on it’s own. 37 out of 100? Does anyone here like beer?

Nice brew.... very reminiscent of a porter. The pour is not opaque, but the deepest ruby prune color imaginable. The head is tan, decent and leaves weblacing. The bouquet is of choco malts with some dark cherries and espresso intermingling. Flavors of cherries, smoke, roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee predominate. The finish is roasted. A syrupy mouthfeel rounds out the brew, and makes for a very nicely satiating offering.

Pour is a very dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is pretty darn good. Some caramel, hops and a nice roasty chocolate show up. Flavor is also quite good. Molasses and toffee with some chocolate and a nice hoppyness to round out the flavor. Pretty tasty for a brown ale and prob one of the best i have ever had.
