3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours brown with a medium tan head that leaves decent lacing. Smells of hazelnut, and sweet malt, maybe a little caramel there too. Tastes the same as the smell but the nut flavor comes through a bit more in the taste. Mouthfeel is thin and watery with decent carbonation. Overall pretty average for a nut brown ale nothing special but drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The appearance of this beer is a dark brown with a quickly fading off-white head, and the aroma is toasted malts, nuts, and sour yeast. The taste is mildly sweet, slightly sour, and a touch umami, but the palate combines a medium body, thick and slick texture, soft carbonation, and a long yet slightly sour finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark, burnt sienna color with only a slight head. The aroma has a hazelnut, caramel quality. There’s also a bit of maple in the aroma that comes out when you raise the glass. The flavor is rich and warm and full, there’s a lot of caramel malt and some walnut notes, and some hops in the finish. I liked this, it’s the best beer I’ve had from the brewery and a damn fine nut brown.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours deep brown with negligible head. Malty aroma with a hint of nutmeg and maple. Smooth malt flavor with a hop finish. A bit flat for my taste. Drinkable, but unremarkable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz Bottle. The pour was a dark chestnut brown with an average (1-2 finger) light brown frothy head that receded at a quick steady pace, down to a very thin film and medium collar with good runny lacing.
The aroma was of roasted dark malts, light resin hops and an earthy leathery yeast with notes of toffee, chocolate, coffee and a decent nutty presence.
The taste was rather malty with a touch of chocolate and a nice toffee sweetness from the start, progressing with a slightly bitter coffee taste and a mildly roasty nutty finish. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow with a slightly bitter roastiness left behind.
Mouthfeel was between light and medium in body and watery in texture with a medium carbonation.
Overall this was a decent enough Nut Brown with all the taste you would expect but was really nothing over the top, to sum it up it was pretty basic for the style. That being said it still was a good drinkable and tasty brew…

4.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Don’t know how this one scored so low, it’s beautiful, full flavored, malty with just the right amount of hops. The aroma is mild and it pours a dark cloudy brown with a frothy head. Honestly, when I’m drinking this I imagine it’s what Tolkien’s Hobbits or Dwarves would brew or what they might have had in old England. Well worth trying for fans of malty ales, gamers and Tolkien fans.
