If you could distil the most plain, basic "beer" flavor then this would be it. Completely devoid of any distinctive flavors or character. Okay, it's not really THAT boring, but it is unmemorable enough that you'll forget what it tasted like the next day. Dark orange-y color, full head with good lace. This is NOT the chosen beer. If this was the first beer I'd had from HeBrew then I wouldn't try the rest. Be careful not to drop it when you doze off from boredom.

Darker than other brown ales. Initial aroma is a bit sour, however that changes as the pint goes on. A bit too much hop.

355ml bottle. Brewed at the new facility according to the label. Not sure if it is still new but ill take it. Rather than brown this is actually a really deep plum/magenta color. The smell is pleasant, light cocoa, roasted malts, slight earthiness. The flavor is ok. Definitely a big metallic note but in this case it doesn’t ruin the beer. The rest of the flavor is light and refreshing slightly roasty mineral watery ale. It drinks super light, a good dark beer for summer.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Taste sweet, nutty, chocolate. I thought this was good. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pint pour of deep mahogany brown with light khaki head. Nose is light roasted malt and mild caramel. Cant place the other aroma but its not killer. Flavor is smooth toasted malt and mild caramel notes. Easy drinking but not a favorite brown.

12 oz bottle into snifter glass. Pours a soda brown with a small light tan head and some decent sticky lacing. Aroma of roasted peanuts, cocoa, toffee, soap and caramel. Taste is strong roasty peanuts, bittersweet chocolate, toffee, caramel and a somewhat soapy taste also coming through. Quick finish of malts and toffee. Medium body, slick texture, medium high carbonation. Not bad, but not great either. Slightly better than average.

Brown in color.... Thinnish mouthfeel, nutty malt character, some chocolate... Nothing special ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: Cocoa powder rules the malt scene, and is met with a very light dash of spicy/floral hops. Cocoa tends toward chocolate fudge as it warms. Appearance: Nearly opaque dark brown with a foamy tan head that settles into a creamy tan ring. Flavor: Mostly cocoa up front, but with undercurrents of lightly spicy hops; really surprised by the depth of the malts for a 5.5 beer- cocoa into dark bread. There’s a little citrus/floral kick towards the finish, concluding with a slightly bitter dryness. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, flat carbonation, slightly bitter finish. Overall: In my opinion, a severely underappreciated example of the style.

Draft at Moriartys. Very dark clear copper pour. Soft white foam up top with a bit of wet lace. Clean burnt roasted nuts. Big plum notes. Palate runs a bit thin but nicely dark, nutty and juicy.

Bottle. Dark reddish-brown with very little head. Molasses and root vegetables. Mild nuttiness and bitterness at the end.

Pours a hazy, mahogany with lots of suspended particles and about 1’’ of mocha colored head. Aroma is sweet and nutty with a hint of chocolate. Taste follows the nose with a mild bitterness towards the end and a somewhat dry finish. Very smooth and easy to drink.
