5/03/2007: He’Brew Monumental Jewbelation pours a clear brown color (pretty dark). The head is large, foamy, beige, has good retention, and leaves thick lacing. While tasting this beer, I was trying to figure out what style it was since I didn’t know before drinking it. The aroma seemed like that of an Old Ale. It is complex and intense with deep caramel and cream. The flavor is also quite intense with lots deep malt, chocolate caramel flavor, and mildly hoppy. It is very well balanced and only has a bit of bitterness that stands out just before leading into the finish. The finish is malty as well and lasts and lasts - probably until I took a drink of something else! This beer is thick and sticky. It coats nicely. It is pretty full (medium-full) as far as body goes, with a slightly oily texture. This is an unbelieveably drinkable beer for the amount of alcohol and heft that it has! Excellent in every way.

nuplastikk (381), Maryland, USA Jul 22, 2008 500ml bottle....came out in late 2006 I believe, closet stored until July 22, 2008. Deep chestnut brown-black color, with a creamy head. This has mellowed exceptionally well, but I remember enjoying the beer when it was new on the shelf in 2006. Very deep malty flavors, very rich. Like a dark Barleywine in some ways, but with ten malts and ten hops it really captures a lot of the classic strong beer flavors. An excellent and fully respectable beer. Gains points for how well it aged. skoisirius (431), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 12, 2008 Woah now...lots going on here. Notes that stuck out were definitely the chocolate roasty bit and how it blended with with the hammered in bittered hops and sweet malts. Definitely can taste the ABV. Mellows out nicely with age. ScottB (32), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Jun 29, 2008 Wow. Big and complex. Huge chocolate/malt nose follows through in the mouth and is nicely complimented by notes of dark fruit. The hops deliver a nice tanginess at the end. Finish is slightly sweet, creamy, and very pleasant. This is a good beer. SuperDave70 (652), Arizona, USA Jun 23, 2008 Pours a dark amber-brown with a big foamy brown head. Lots of roasted and caramel malts in the aroma, as well as chocolate, spice and hops. Similar flavor. Lots going on in this one, but it is kept nicely balanced. Feels nice on the palate. A nice hoppiness on the finish as well as a touch of alcohol.. A very good brew. Dorwart (1593), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Jun 8, 2008 Good sized brown head of fine bubbles. Settles nice and slowly. Rich and chocoalty aroma. Lots of sweet malts, toated grains, caramel and a bit of pepper??? Color is a very dark chocolaty brown. Sweet and malty flavor. The hops presence has certainly dwindled since it is not very prominent at all. Little bit too sweet. Lots of roasted grains and unfortunately a little bit flat on the tongue. Finishes oily and malts with a bit of lingering smoke. Another solid brew from HeBrew. This one may have been a little bit better fresher.
