Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Sep 21, 2008 Bomber. Clear mahogany red with a thin beige head. Nose is figs and dates, plus brown sugar.Flavor is more of the same, emphasis on the figs, of course, plus a bit of raisin and molasses. Nice brew. Tmoney99 (4661), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 21, 2008 Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured dark brown color with an average fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished with good lacing. Moderate dark tart fruit aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium fruity balanced flavor with a medium sweet small alcohol finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met. jsquire (2087), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Sep 13, 2008 Deep amber color with a thin, off white head. Nose has some caramel maltiness. Sweet beer, with caramel, fig fruitiness and malt syrup and some roasted grains. LooseCannon (914), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Sep 12, 2008 22oz bottle. Pour reddish copper in color with thin brwon head. Aroma sweet, fruity and malty. Taste of sweet, roasted malt and fruity with bitter finish. hayduke (1621), Eureka, California, USA Sep 9, 2008 From a 22 oz bottle taken directly from the beer cellar and poured at 55 degrees, this poured a garnet color with a tan head and good lacing rings.s Nose is rich dark ripe fruit with the figs clearly present. Mouthfeel is sticky but still shows carbonation. Flavor is slightly sweet and shows ripe fruit and again the figs. But it is in the finish where the figs really show up and there is a light bitterness that makes this an overall delightful brew to drink. Trev (850), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Sep 6, 2008 shouldn’t this be a fruit /veggie ale if it’s infused with fig?
pours a dark amber with a thin tan head.
aroma is malty and dark fruit alc.
More dark fruit carries through into the flavour. malty molasses presence, but not overly toasty or chocolatey. Slight bitterness in the finish. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Sep 5, 2008 Bottle. Poured brown with a fizzy off-white head that settles out quick. Aromas of dark fruits and rye. The flavor finds more dark fruits with a strange mix of malts. Medium body with lively carbonation. Dry, sweet up front and a hoppy bitter ending.
